General
This SSP is suitable for operation with STARTER >= V5.3 HF3 / SCOUT > V5.3 SP1 HF6.
The notes documented in accordance with the STARTER >= V5.3 HF3 / SCOUT > V5.3 SP1 HF6
"readme" also apply.
Function overview
The SSP SINAMICS V5.2 SP3 HF1 (Release V05.20.73.00_07.10.08.01) installs the following
drive units in the STARTER/SCOUT:
SINAMICS S120 with Firmware V5.2 SP3
SINAMICS S150 with Firmware V5.2 SP3
SINAMICS G130 with Firmware V5.2 SP3
SINAMICS G150 with Firmware V5.2 SP3
Installation notes
1 System requirements
1.1 Hardware
The same minimum requirements as for the underlying STARTER >= V5.3 HF3 / SCOUT > V5.3
SP1 HF6 version apply.
1.2 Software
The following software must be installed as a minimum requirement for SSP use:
· STARTER >= V5.3 HF3 or
· SCOUT > V5.3 SP1 HF6
No tests have been carried out to determine whether it can be run in a different software

configuration than the one specified above.
A newer SSP version can update an existing STARTER >= V5.3 HF3 / SCOUT > V5.3 SP1 HF6
installation at any time, even with pre-installed older SSPs.
1.3 SSPs and SINAMICS Integrated drives in SIMOTION
This SSP only installs/updates individual drive units in STARTER >= V5.3 HF3 / SCOUT > V5.3
SP1 HF6 that are connected to a SIMOTION via PROFIBUS or PROFINET.
SIMOTION D4xx with integrated drive units is installed/updated via an independent "SSP
SIMOTION SINAMICS_Int.", which may only be installed on a SCOUT.
2. Installing / uninstalling
2.1 Installing
The SSP can be installed either separately or implicitly with the STARTER > V5.4 HF2 / SCOUT
>= V5.4 SP3 setup.
Only a user with administrator rights (User needs to be a member of the administrator’s group)
may install the SSP on the PC/PG.
When installing the SSP separately, the setup can be started with the following call:

The installation program guides you step-by-step through the full installation procedure. The
installation proceeds as follows:
The setup checks your PC for an existing STARTER/SCOUT installation, which meets the
minimum requirements defined under Point 1.2.
If a corresponding STARTER/SCOUT installation is found, the SSP is installed.
If an older version of STARTER/SCOUT is found, this setup is then aborted with a
corresponding note.
2.2 Uninstalling
The SSP is automatically uninstalled at the same time as the STARTER/SCOUT, which means
that uninstalling the STARTER/SCOUT also automatically leads to the uninstallation of all
installed SSPs.
It is not possible to uninstall the SSP separately.
Hint:
The uninstallation of STARTER does not automatically leads to the uninstalling of the installed
object managers (SlaveOM, DeviceOM) and the relating device knowledge.
There will be the possibility to insert device versions into a project, also without the installed SSP.

3.1 Hint according Edge browser of Windows 10
