Quick Start Guide
1. Introduction
This Quick Start Guide provides all the information required to install your Drop &
Insert, version 1.00 software.
NOTE:
For more information about installing and operating the Drop & Insert, see the Drop & Insert
Installation & Operation Manual.
2. Installing the Application
1. Run the Drop & Insert install Wizard:
a. Run the installer executable file “drop&insert_1_00.exe”.

b. Wait until the installer loads. Once the installer has loaded, the Installer Wizard
opening screen appears.
2. Click Next to continue with the installation.
The Select Destination Directory dialog appears.

3. Select the destination directory for the installation and click Next.
The Select Start Menu Folder dialog appears.
4. Select the Start Menu folder in which you would like Setup to create the program’s
shortcuts and click Next.
The Select Additional Tasks dialog appears.

5. Select the additional tasks you would like Setup to perform wile installing Drop &
Insert. Options include:
Create a desktop icon
Create a Quick Launch icon
6. Click Next.
Installation Wizard installs the application on your computer. An installation progress
bar displays the progress of the installation procedure.

7. After the installation procedure completes successfully, a summary window appears
telling you that “Setup has finished installing ...” the application. Click Finish.

3. Configuring the Application
Configuring the application is done by opening the “[Link]” file in a standard
text editor.
In this file, you can modify the following parameters:

NOTE:
After editing the file, save it and restart the application in order to apply the new values.

4. Running the Application
After installation and configuration, you can run the Drop & Insert application from the
Windows Start menu or by clicking the application short cut.
1. When the application starts, the login dialog appears. Enter your Password and
select the Mode (Configuration or Installation).
2. Click OK.
The application verifies the password. If it is correct, the Configuration window or
the Installation window opens, depending on the Mode selected. Otherwise, an error
message appears and the user is prompted to enter his Password again.
Configuration Mode — for the user to enter parameters, save them, load
parameters from a default file, edit them and send them to the device.

Installation Mode — for the user to send parameters as saved in default file. The
user can browse for the file by using the browse button (‘…’) and then send the
parameters to the device.
3. Click Send.
The Send to Device dialog opens.
4. Select the connection type: DVB or LAN.
A default IP address loads automatically from the default file.
5. (Optional) Overwrite the default IP Address, if necessary.
6. Click OK.
The parameters are sent to the device.
