In males, the endocrine disorder hypogonadism is primarily due to the underproduction of testosterone or the
lack of tissue sensitivity to testosterone, and results in sterility. What are five primary functions of testosterone

6. Section integration (3 Points)
In a condition known as endometriosis, endometrial cells are believed to migrate from the body of the uterus
either into the uterine tubes or through the uterine tubes and into the peritoneal cavity, where they become
established. Explain why periodic pain is a major symptom of endometriosis.
Endometriosis is an often-painful disorder in which tissue similar to the tissue normally lines the inside of your
uterus. The endometrium grows outside your uterus. When endometriosis involves the ovaries, cysts called
endometriomas may form. Surrounding tissue can become irritated, eventually developing scar tissue and
adhesions abnormal bands of fibrous tissue that can cause pelvic tissues and organs to stick to each other.
Endometriosis can cause pain, sometimes severe, especially during menstrual periods. Fertility problems also
may develop.
