North Korea Fires Artillery at South Korea

North Korea fired approximately 200 artillery shells at a South Korean island near their disputed maritime border, the most serious conflict between the two Koreas in over 50 years. Today, North Korea suddenly fired estimated
200 artillery shells at a South Korean island,
near the disputed territorial waters of two sides.
This is the most serious affair since the Korean
War over half a century ago.
CNN reported about 200 artillery shells were
fired at Yeonpyeong island, near the disputed
territorial waters of the Yellow Sea, west of
Korea Peninsula. According to a South Korean
official, the North provoked by a firing at 14h34
today and Korean troops fired back immediately.
The bombardment set 60 houses on fire and the
locals stampeded in panic.
A marine was killed, 13 soldiers and 2 civilians
were injured.
South Korea ordered an evacuation immediately
and fired back with about 80 artillery shells.
