Production Management is related with operation management and it is the platform where we

learn about industrial management system and how to planning and control of materials of the

company.

Example: Garments company is the best example of it, where we see that how converts raw

materials into final goods or cloths

There are many differences in service and manufacturing operations. They are given below.

 Manufacturing is position of goods and service is pragmatic.

 Manufacturing operations changes inputs like substance and it is real in their outputs,
Service operations also transfer any code into products and which is intangible.
 Manufacturing operation let distinct between production and use.
 In service operations production and consumption are related to each other of service.
 In manufacturing operations measuring the productivity is so easy, in service operations
measuring the productivity is not easy.
 Providing less customer satisfaction is the usual fact of manufacturing operations, in
service operations customer has more satisfaction.
 In manufacturing operations has standard quality which is simple and easy to make and
service operations have not standard quality and difficult to make.

more information is exchanged. Streamlining organization communication to both
management and frontline workers is essential.

 Automation Efficiency 

The area of whole business management is affected by the rise of automation. We can see
a massive increment in the profitability and productivity by the quick development of

and hardware can drastically cut time wasted when it comes to manual processes, and

After coming the apps and portals, it becomes quite easier to reach the team member,

those had to prioritize internal and external mobile communications.

 Assign the right people with the right skills and passion for the project

Having the right people assigned to a project is very important. It is important that the
internal leaders understand what the production system will provide and what technical skills
and training will be needed to work with the vendor throughout this process.

Every team member has to have good knowledge regarding how to measure the products and
produce in filed and the process flow form production to final sales. For example, the
measurements for oil, gas and water should have consistent standards set for gathering and
reporting the data. By being passionate about the ultimate results, and willing to learn the
fundamentals of your new system, you will be well on your way to success.

 Obtain buy-in and support from executive management.

From the executive level the vision and mission statement must be clear which impacts any
project a lot. Sometimes these becomes beneficial in pushing toughly occurs variety of
reasons.

 Gather and organize all required data elements prior to the project.

We should arrange a list of all facilities and their defining attributes (Section, Range, County,
State, Field, pumper Township, District accounting code, API number, route, etc.) and put
them in a spreadsheet for complete data cleansing prior to upload.

We should arrange list of all LACT meters, tanks, fuel meters, meters, orifice meters etc. and
note what they are measuring and which well or facility that they are associated with.

Record must be maintained carefully which wells contribute to sales at which facility, and
any other product measured at the facility which will need to allocate back to the well (such
as gas used, gas flared, oil sold etc.).

 Build my success incrementally.

The best understand of solution comes when the team member works for success and then
progress to others along with growing betterment of the soft wear. We should mark a route
or area and this should be understandable for the personnel and people involved with the
entire process. Generate vital reports and deliver them to the people who will use them. This
will begin to give my project momentum. Work through my cyclical processes for each day,
and then for the month, to ensure that all procedures are being covered.

 Don’t overload people with other responsibilities.

It’s been seen a projects fails due to the lead person in a company is very overloaded,
required to learn about new product, make the transition, and complete other responsibilities.
We should be confirming to have enough staff assigned to the details, have some of the work
contracted out if needed. Dedication and focus the project will speed up the project as well as
cost reducing.

Production management has great impact on every sector of an organization. By learning

production management, it helped us to gain knowledge about the internal coordination among

us and on the basis of their willingness and wants it helps to make decision for as a manager of
the organization. Production management helped us to understand the synchronization of the
management functions planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling which is most
important performing the production process in an effective and efficient manner. Production is
the core objective of an organization why which it’s maximizing its profitability, the main goal
of the organization. Production management helped to understand the importance of material
management, producing the quality product, delivering them in the right time at a profit
maximizing price. Project Budgeting including analyzing, oversee and prediction etc. knowledge
can be gained through the learning of production management. Production management gives us
the knowledge by which we can accomplish the firm’s objectives which is producing products,
satisfying the customers, increasing the sales and maximizing the profit. We have learnt to do
different market researches to introduce a new product in the market. Production management
provide the knowledge to facilitate optimum utilization of resources such as manpower,

machines, etc. So, the firm can meet its capacity utilization objective. By learning production
management, we get to know the how to maximize the output and minimize the input which
helps to reduction the cost and efficiency. In a nutshell production management gives the

 Impact of Production management in Professional Career:

As a manager it will help to make the effective and beneficial decision so the main purpose of
the organization can be served. It will be helpful to understand the job as manager of the
production department .it will help to satisfy the customer needs by serving the quality product in
the right and in a proper quantity according to market needs. Product and process can be
understood through the production management which will be helpful to understand the inside

efficiency of Production Management.

 Recommendations:

Steps we can take to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Production Management in an
organizations are:

 Information System Development: Today is the technological era where every success
comes after technological development. So we need to develop our production team with
technical knowledge and ideas which will increase efficiency of production.
 Human as a key component: For increasing effectiveness of the production
management we used best machine tools and we also maintained routine maintenance of
the machine for better performance but we never think of the key component ‘Human’.
We can improve production efficiency and effectiveness by nurturing human with
training and also by giving facilities up to mark.
 SOP’s: We should maintain standard operation process to improve efficiency on
production.
 Recycling: Recycling the raw materials is the best option to increase production.
 Smart Operation Process: Now a day’s lots of business operation software’s are
available, so we should cultivate modern operation process to develop production
management.
 Leader not Boss: For improving production management, team leader should act as a
leader to the team member not as a boss which will increase team collaboration.
 Set Production scale: Setting up a production scale can develop efficiency of production
management.
