Defining Good Rants

Using the boxes below, list as many good qualities of each rant as possible. Be specific by looking at the
categories below. Also, think about ways each rant could be improved.

· Hook / Introduction - How did the presenter get your attention?


· Conclusion - Was there a final statement that convinced you to side with the presenter?
· Thesis - Did it address the question ‘SO WHAT?’ Did the presenter explain why their point was relevant?
· Point & Proof - What type of arguments were made? How did the examples support the points?
· Voice - Comment on the tone, volume and clarity of the presenter, plus literary devices and diction used.
· Pace - Comment on the speed at which the arguments were presented in the rant.
· Movement - What visuals were used? When? How/When did the presenter use body gestures?
