By completing this worksheet, you will be able to:
Draw and interpret Histograms with equal class intervals.
Construct a group frequency table and its histogram.
Histogram is a graphical display of data using bars of different heights.
Histogram is the most commonly used graph to show frequency distributions. It looks very
much like a bar chart, but there are important differences between them.
Histogram represents the frequency distribution of continuous data.
A bar graph is a diagrammatic
comparison of discrete data.
Histogram presents numerical data
whereas bar graph shows
categorical data.
A histogram is drawn in such a way
that there is no gap between the
bars.
To make a histogram, follow these
steps:
On the vertical axis (y-axis), place frequencies. Label this axis "Frequency".
On the horizontal axis (x-axis), place the lower value of each interval.
Draw a bar extending from the lower value of each interval to the lower value of
the next interval.
