My Learning Episode Overview
This episode will allow me to meet my cooperating teacher. This activity will also give me the
chance to better understand the expectations of my cooperating teacher.
My Target (Learning Outcomes)
At the end of this activity, I will be able to:
meet my cooperating teacher,
reflect on the expectations of my cooperating teacher,
observe and record important notes airing the discussion with my cooperating teacher,
interact my cooperating teacher,
give assistance to my cooperating teacher

My Big Ideas (Learning Essentials)
As a student intern, I must do the following:
observe my cooperating teacher especially in establishing classroom routines;
remember that the early period of observations is highly significant in making
my practice teaching more meaningful and rewarding;
follow my cooperating teacher’s rules and expectations to build a solid and
meaningful relationship

My Cooperating Teacher’s Expectations:
During the student teaching experience, I expect you to follow the rules and submit the
learning plan in timely manner.
I expect you to conform to the same professional standards as the regular staff members of
the school. Should arrive at the school at the same time as the teachers and spend the full
school day and any additional planning time as requested. If unforeseen circumstances
should cause you to be late or absent, you need inform about it.
I expect you to have a clear understanding of your responsibilities as a pre-service teacher.
Always prepare your presentation ahead on the scheduled class (Wednesday at 9:45 and
Thursday 3:15)
My Expectations
Likewise, I also have my expectations that I need to convey to my cooperating teacher in
order that my needs are also met and understood.
o Assist and provide access to resources such as curriculum guides. Share written learning plan
and provide a sample format.
o Assist me in developing communication, establishing effective classroom management and
building camaraderie with the students
o Help me develop assessment techniques for evaluating and grading student work and teach
me how to compute the grades provided the new set-up we have because of pandemic.
B. In observation phase, I need to do the following:
o Integrate ICT in my discussion
o Catch the attention of my students
o Prepare motivational activity that will boost their interest in the class
o Provide positive enforcement through praising them in doing well during class
C. To fully equip myself to better understand my cooperating teacher, I need to know her/his
personal characteristics. Choose any three (3) significant characteristics and why you need to do to

Always on time To be able to finish all the works on time
Consistent To be able to have uniform responses to behavior choices in
term of what is expected from them.
Professionalism To be able to demeanor seriousness in responsibilities as a
teacher and earns the trust of the students.

Considerate set-up we have due to COVID-19 pandemic.
My Analysis
In my first encounter with my cooperating teacher, I realized that:
Teaching is not an easy job. Since, we are in blended class, we need to update the student every now
and then on what they need to comply since not all can join the online class.
A teacher is responsible of his students during class hours and even beyond. Student may keep on
messaging about their queries and that is why even beyond the class hours you need to entertain
them.
Teaching is not about educating, it is also about inspiring and motivating. Students have encounter
stress due to the pandemic and therefore you need to uplift them in any way possible.
I should completely prepare myself upon teaching.
My Reflections / My Insights

I still need to overcome my apprehensions.
because apprehension is one of the reasons why one never achieve his/her goals. It’s a major thing
that hold people back from achieving success. You’re getting anywhere with what you truly want to
do because you’re worried about what others have to say about it. I’m looking forward to be in
teaching profession someday however I need first to overcome my fear to gain confidence and self-
esteem. Through this I can be an effective teacher. It might take time have full to have full
confidence in teaching but believing in yourself and overcoming your fear is a big step towards it.
