Floor Cleanup

Dirty floors are the number one source of injuries in McDonald’s. Some
employees don’t know that the oil splashes on the ground when the grill is used
causing them to slip. Providing clean and safe floors will minimize the risk of
accidents and improve customer satisfaction.
Materials for clean up
• Broom
• Dustpan
• Small towel wipe
• Mop and bucket
• Degreaser
Floors clean up
Cleaning floor required lot of times. When you clean floor, make sure that there’s
no customer around the area. Make sure that the mop and broom are clean
before using. Clean the kitchen floor when the restaurant is not busy. Before
sweeping, pick up big trash that is on the floor and tables so that the dustpan will
not filled so fast and to make sure your job will be more easier.

1. Grab the small towel and wipe down any food on the tables so that it will
not fall down to the floor, after you done sweeping. Wipe any ketchup
packets or liquids on the table so that it does not spill onto the floor and
get it dirty.

2. Grab the broom and sweep in one area at the time. Make sure to sweep:

• All the corners of the floors


• Under tables
• Under the fry station.
• Around the cooking station to prevent the dust
3. Sweep everything into a pile in an area where there are no customers
around. When you are done cleaning everything, sweep the pile into the
dustpan and move onto another area to sweep.

4. Step aside the tables and chairs for you to easier to clean the area.

5. Before and after mopping kindly put wet floor signs to the area you are
cleaning so the customer don’t go to those area.

6. Used boiling water with detergent or any liquid soap to help, it can easily
remove the dirt, stains, and other mess around the floor.

7. When the zone has been cleaned, flush the mop in the basin and wring it
out. Mop the area again to eliminate the overabundance of water on the
floor. On the off chance that the café gets occupied and you need to return
to the zone, you can make the ways to let the breeze accelerate the drying
cycle.
8. At the point when the territory is filthy, you can return the seats down and
eliminate the wet floor signs. Repeat these means to clean different
territories, including the kitchen.
9. At the point when you are finished cleaning different zones, take the mop
