Throughout the senior project, I had a lot of ups and downs.

I was distracted

while being in zoom classes which led to a lot of procrastination. This was the worst part

for me because whenever I procrastinate, I get very stressed out and get very bad

anxiety. I could not figure out what to do for interviews and the actual project part of this

assignment. It didn’t make things any better when I would talk to my friends about it

because most of them seemed to have their mind straight and seemed way ahead of

me. This made the anxiety way worse. I am so thankful to my mentor for everything he

did throughout this project to make sure I was done with what needed to be done and

figuring out who to interview. He helped me out by figuring out where would be the best

spot for me to volunteer. I never really thought about gentrification until the research I

did for my project. Through the whole process, I am so glad to have learned more about

this sad thing that goes on in today’s world. It happens all around us. It was definitely an

eye-opening topic especially living in the bay where we see so many neighborhoods

being gentrified. If I could go back, I would 100% get my assignments done before the

deadline. I would sometimes not sleep because of how stressed I was that I wasn’t

going to pass the assignment. My parents, my friends, and especially my mentor were

the ones who got me through this. I can not thank them enough. My mindset on life has

changed because of this project. I am more appreciative of the little things in life that

aren’t always handed out to everyone. There is no reason why I won’t go back and

volunteer to help out my community some more now. I had a lot of fun and it was a

great feeling to give back to the area I was born and raised in.
