14. A wave of frequency 500Hz has a phase velocity of 350m/s. How far apart are two points 600(π
rad) out of phase? (ii) What is the phase difference between two displacements at a certain point
at times 10-3 sec apart?
15. A stretched string has linear mass density of 5gm/cm and a tension of 10N. A wave on the string
has amplitude of 0.12mm and a frequency of 100Hz is travelling in negative x-direction.
(i) Write the wave equation with appropriate units.
(ii) At what average rate does the wave transport energy?
