Title: Who Am I? I Am H2O!

In every inch of your body, I am there, flowing freely. I am the one that keeps your
environment healthy and stable. I am what you need, not just only for a single day but for the
rest of your life. I am the reason that keeps you still lively and alive.
I am a life.
Thanks to Almighty God, the heavenly father, he created me and bought to earth. With
his love and grace, he even bestowed me the power to kill destructive fires, ability to quench
thirst, and to give second chances to those lifeless one that wishes to lives once again.
Without my presence, without me, a living things like you would be nothing! I flow in
lakes, rivers, and seas, and even I falls down from the skies above, just to give life and bring
green that you will perish, gives colors along with you. And if not, the place where you used to
live will be a sphere of lifeless color, a dull brown one.
God is good. God is kind. Indeed, he is king of all kings. A genius of all geniuses. He
manages to create great masterpiece beyond extraordinary. For you, and to your humanity, he
created me.
But you know, I really don’t understand. I value you as much as I value myself, yet, you
do terrible things unto me. Oh, man, what I have done? All my life, I was there to you, give
chances, and give miracles, a LIFE! For all those kindnesses that I’ve done, it is not enough for
you? Am I not enough?
As day by day passes, a part and tons of me is losing. Losing under your careless and
irresponsible hands. I am suffering. Suffering badly from being a victim of pollution because of
your polluted minds and acts. Oh, man, is this how you repay me?
I think you all have already forgotten. Then, let me remind this to you once again. God
allowed me to bring life. Apart from that, he also allowed me to bring destruction. Sometimes a
massive one. Destruction that can kill life.
If that right time came, don’t blame me. Blame yourself! Remember, it is only your
careless acts are thrown back. Just like what your fellow once said, “an eye for an eye, a tooth
for a tooth.”
Once my limits are reached, I will ask the wind, the thunder, and the lightning for help. I,
myself, will fall down endlessly from dark skies in a form of cascading droplets. Together, we
will crush everything that blocks our way. It doesn’t matter anymore if I have to destroy those
innocent ones that I helped to grow and given life. I will do these terrible things, to give lessons
to the mankind, and to let you realize our importance.
I, myself, do not wish to see you suffer and cry. I know, even our Almighty God, do not
want me to make these things to you, but man, I left with no choice. If I will not do these, what
about me? How about those who only depends their life on me? So, man always remember to
watch every moves and actions you plan to do. Do not give me more reasons to wreck and
havoc more to you.
Maybe, you don’t know me. Who am I? well, I am a LIFE, an essential to you. I am the
one what scientist called H2O, or water for a simple man like you. A creation that can bring life,
and can take away too.

University of Antique Conducts bUtlAk 2020, UA’s Onboarding Program

University of Antique conducted 5 days bUtlAk 2020, The UA’s On-Boarding Program for all students
from freshmen to seniors held last August 24-28 2020 thru live in Zoom and of University of Antique
Official Facebook page.

Butlak 2020 is the yearly orientation program conducted specially for freshmen. However, due to
hindrance of COVID-19 pandemic which is rampant and unnoticeable, this year’s orientation program is
unique. For the first time in UA history, the orientation program happened thru zoom and facebook live.
This is to comply the safety protocols recommended by the office of DOH, where there should NO FACE
TO FACE APPOINTMENT and GATHERINGS for all specially the students, faculty and staff of whole UA
system to avoid the risk of COVID-19.

First day of bUtlAk 2020, August 24, Monday, started at around 1 P.M. with an opening prayer entitled
“Lord, Heal Our Land,” followed by UA Hymn, and series of giving rationale. The highlights of the first
day bUtlAk 2020 is the emphasis of KNOWING UA: the UA’s history, knowing the members of the board
of regents, vice presidents and campus directors, members of the executive committee, and the UA
mission, vision, goals and objectives.

The second day, August 25, Tuesday, at exactly 1:30 P.M. began the afternoon discussion with the talk
on “e-skuela: the kasUbAy Learning Management System (LMS)” hosted by Alex C. Delos Santos. The
talk was organized purposely to inform all the students about the ways to navigate and access the UA’s
LMS, the new way of learning. The first detailed discussion was delivered by Mr. Jhing Valera, where he
emphasized the ways to access eskuela. It was followed by Mr. Roger Mission where he emphasized
things that about to do such as; finding courses, viewing profiles, accessing enrolled courses, viewing
lessons, submitting assignments and quizzes, and viewing of grades.

Third day, August 26, Wednesday, a new set of orientation was discussed. The afternoon discussion was
opened by the Alex C. Delos santos, Director of Information. The talk was about UA’s Student Services
in New Normal.

At the fouth day, August 27, Thursday, series of orientation was conducted by department. The activity
commenced with an orientation of from the College of Maritime studies. This was followed by the other
department; College of Art and Sciences, College of Computer Studies, College of Engineering and
Architecture, College of technology, Open Learning program, UA LABHIGH of Main Campus, College of
Teacher Education, and ended by the College of Business and Accountancy.

In the last day, August 28, Friday, the discussion was hosted by the four other campuses namely,
University of Antique TLMC in Tibiao, University of Antique Hamtic Campus, and the two extension
campuses in Caluya and Libertad.
“UA is doing everything. At least we will put into safe situation nga hindi ma humper ang aton nga pag-
eskwela. Rako man nga mga challenges but still, we can do this together. Amo ya regalo, the initiative of
UA to have eskuela nga magamit kang students kag kang faculty man,” said Mr. Jhing valera, University
of Antique Faculty.
