Role of Curricula in Intentional Learning

The document discusses the roles of different curricula in improving an intentional curriculum according to the respondent. The supported, tested, and learned curricula all play big roles by helping the learning process, assessing student learning, and showing learning outcomes. The intentional curriculum is seen as prescriptive as it provides suggestions for teacher planning and what students are ready to learn. The recommended curriculum provides guidance while the hidden curriculum shapes the future of the intentional curriculum.

PEREGRINO, YANALEEN AZALER

1. To what extent do you believe the supported, tested, and learned curricula for the various
disciplines play a role in improving the intentional curriculum?

 For me the 3 different curriculums the supported, tested and learned plays a big role in improving
intentional curriculum. First the supported, the supported curriculum can help a lot in the process
of learning in the intentional curriculum. Same as the tested, tested is to know what the students
are learning in the in the intentional curriculum. Last is the learned which will tell us or show us
the learning outcomes of the students. All in all, all the curricula will play a big role for
intentional curriculum.

2. Do you feel that the intentional curriculum is prescriptive or descriptive, or a combination of

both? Why?

 For me it is prescriptive because intentional curriculum gives suggestion on what should the
teacher do (Planning) and it indicates what children are ready to learn next.

3. What roles do the recommended curriculum and hidden curriculum play in developing the
intentional curriculum?

 Recommended curriculum gives guidance and the hidden curriculum shapes the future of the
intentional curriculum in schools.
