Calamansi Peel: Effective Shoe Deodorizer

The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of powdered calamansi peel as an alternative shoe deodorizer. Researchers had household members use the powdered peel and provide feedback. Results showed the peel was very effective at removing odors and respondents felt it made their feet feel fresh. A correlation was found between the peel and removing shoe odor, supporting the hypothesis. It was concluded the peel is an affordable and effective natural alternative to commercial deodorizers.

The research aimed to determine the effectiveness of powdered calamansi peel

as an alternative shoe odor remover of people in each of researcher’s household

member here in Pangasinan. It sought to determine the experience of the respondents

with the powdered calamansi peel. It also determine the effectiveness of the powdered

calamansi peel as an alternative shoe odor remover.

Random Sampling was utilized in this study. The technique utilized in selecting

respondents was random wherein we selected people who are in our own household to

follow the safety protocol and to prevent the spreading of Covid-19 here in Pangasinan.

The statistical treatment of data involves the use of frequency counts, average weighted

mean and correlation coefficient or Pearson’s R.

Findings revealed that the powdered calamansi peel was very effective as an

alternative shoe odor remover. Also, respondent’s experience in the product was
extremely effective. The two variables, Powdered Calamansi Peel and Shoe Odor

Remover has a correlation. Hence, alternative hypothesis was accepted. There is a

significant relationship between powdered calamansi peel and shoe odor remover.

Based on the findings mentioned above, the following conclusion were drawn.

Respondents agree that the product removes the unpleasant odor of the shoes and

makes feet feel fresh and clean which makes the product effective. Study shows that

removing the unpleasant odor and making their feet feel fresh and clean was one of the

standard of a person on approving that it was effective as an alternative shoe odor

remover. Based on the data gathered, the respondents were highly agree that

powdered calamansi peel was comfortable and effective as an alternative shoe odor

remover. Also, the product was much cheaper than the commercial shoe odor remover

which makes people have an easier and much more affordable way to remove the odor

in their shoes. Powdered calamansi peel has a significant relationship between shoe

odor remover because it proves that it is very effective as a shoe odor remover.

With all the conclusions in mind, these recommendations were formulated.
