Purpose
The TK501 cable connects a 9-pole serial COM interface of a PC with the serial COM2 interface of an
AC500 CPU PM57x, PM58x and PM59x. It is used for programming purposes.

The serial interface of the CPUs PM554 and PM564 provide no communication via RS-
232. The programming cable TK501 cannot be used for those CPU types.
NOTE

With AC500-CPUs, only the ABB programming cables TK50x can be used. Other
cables may cause communication faults and must not be used.
NOTE

Electrical Connection
The two plugs are put on the 2 COM interfaces and tightened there.
