Global Business Strategy and Organization

 For businesses looking to develop and expand, entering a new market is a great opportunity. While
there are many ways to grow a business, companies that offer globally relevant offerings and unique value
propositions should seriously consider expanding into new markets. Suppose you own a company that is
existing for 15 years here in the Philippines, and you are planning to go international, what entry strategy
will you adopt and how can you be successful in that chosen strategy? Be specific with the entry strategy
that you will choose and identify the country where you will enter. Elaborate on your answer.

For example, I am going to export a domestically produced dried mangoes in Taiwan. The vast majority
of Taiwan firms are small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). To be able to survive in that new market,
entry strategy must be formulated. While knowing the Taiwan market overview, market challenges, market
opportunities, trade policies and standards, and trade agreements, I must find the best Taiwan local partners
to serve as agent, distributor, and/or representatives to gain initial footholds in their market. To do that, I must
also attend trade fairs to meet potential competitors, suppliers and customers and learn about their business
cultures and traditions. This strategy to sell goods on my behalf can be cost-effective and helpful in the flow of
goods in the Taiwan market.

 How would you characterize the organizational culture or "personality" of the institution or organization
where you belong (e.g. in school, church, etc.)? Do you feel good about this culture, and does it act as a
positive control mechanism for your organization? If not, what about your culture would you like to change?
Be specific with your discussion.

The academy culture or "personality" of the academic institution or organization I belong to tend to be working
way up the ranks, people I know here can always develop and exercise their skills flexibly. Mentorship,
teamwork, adaptable cultures are often seen as the bridge in gaps to better appreciate and understand roles
of every people in the organization to reach greater goals in every aspects. Every person are encouraged to
think creatively and bring their ideas to the table which creates areas of development opportunities.
