2. Aims and Learning Outcomes
Component Description In the Course of Neurology students are exposed to a broad spectrum of
(summary, especially important for elective
Components) neurological conditions.
Students are encouraged to participate in research projects jointly with senior
faculty members and PHD students.
Psychiatry course teaches the medical students a professional approach to
patients with various mental disturbances like are anxiety, psychosis, cognitive
and substance caused disorders with focus on diagnosis and basic treatment
as an integral part of the course. Teaching is centralized and takes place in
psychiatry division/hospital. Students will be provided with detailed information
on psychiatry main syndromes, differential diagnosis and management of
these conditions through lectures and practicals.
Component Objectives: The main objectives of the course are:
● To learn the conceptual and scientific bases of clinical, neurological
diseases.
● To become familiar with the methodology of neurological examination
● To learn of the ethical and legal aspects of the patient's neurologic
information
● To teach students the fundamentals of cognitive, emotional and
psychosocial development, as well as biological, psychological and social
fundamentals of personality and behaviour. To recognise, diagnose and direct
the management of psychiatric disorders.
Generic Learning Outcomes: After the completion of the course, the student will be able to:
● Retrieve and analyze information from different sources;
● Communicate with experts both in own and other fields usingmajor tools of
logic and argumentation;
● Generate new ideas;
● Adapt to new situations;

Rationale for assessment and relationship of assessment methods to learning outcomes (this information is not
published):
During course students should complete at least 3 medical records interviewing patients with neurological
disorders under the supervision. Practicals are based on case discussion. Students will learn to communicate
with patients and their family members properly.
At the end of the course final oral exam will be held. During the course online midterm MCQ test will be
conducted.
