Legacy Spring Loading Guide
The OpenOdometry Module is designed to use extension springs pulling from either the back standoff or the
back REV Encoder mounting screw to springload the odometry into the ground.

point behind the module.
Spring Selection Process:
1. Go on McMaster Carr or any other site that sells a large variety of springs
2. Filter by extension springs
3. Filter by springs with loop ends
4. Select a force when fully extended of about 1 - 3 lbs (keep the leverage of your setup in mind)
5. Find the springs with a length when fully extended that is approximately the distance between the
standoff/screw hole and the mounting point
6. Check if the loop is large enough to fit over the standoff/screw
7. If there is one with a large enough loop use that
8. If not, change your mounting point to filter by different length springs
