D. Doctoral Program Applicants
1) Students whose parents are both foreign nationals and who hold a Master’s
degree or who are considered by the admission committee to have an acceptable
intellectual competence at the level of someone holding an equivalent or higher
degree
2) Students of Korean origin who have received their entire elementary, junior high,
high school, undergraduate and graduate education outside of Korea at an
equivalent level institution or who are considered by the admission committee to
have an acceptable intellectual competence at the level of someone holding an
equivalent or higher degree.

※ Only the applicants for the College of Art & Design or Programs & Majors in Graduate
School of Art Graduate School of Engineering will be the exception of the language
proficiency requirement.
※ Applicants for Creative Writing are required TOPIK Level 6.
※ Official Language Certificate should be submitted by application deadline.
※ Students who do not meet the minimum requirements for Korean proficiency may be
granted conditional admission. If granted conditional admission, the student will be
required to enroll in a Korean language program and to receive a TOPIK Level 3 within a
year. The Language program registration confirmation should be submitted after paying the
tuition fee.

D. Supplementary Materials
Records of tests and various awards attained in high school will be considered in the
admissions decision if submitted.
The relevant country’s qualifying test for high school graduation or university
admission test: British GCE A-Level, Japanese Admission Center Exam, Chinese
Unified Exam, German Abitur, French Baccalaureate, etc.
Standardized tests and other indicators of academic achievement: IB Diploma, IB
Certificate, AP, SAT, AICE, AEA, etc. (Only the documents achieved before May
of 2014 is acceptable.)
Records of accelerated and rigorous coursework: AP, IB, Honors, etc. (Only the
documents achieved before May of 2014 is acceptable.)
Official letter or other document by the high school that indicates the applicant’ s
class rank or percentile (if not stated in applicant’s academic transcript)
Proof of language proficiency: HSK, JLPT, DELF, ZD, DELE etc.
Official school introduction/profile(s) published by the applicant’s high school or
the government education ministry will be considered in the admissions decision.
The introductory document may include information on the high school’s
curriculum, availability of accelerated and rigorous academic tracks, size of
student body, grade distribution of enrolled students, distribution of standardized
test performance, student selection process (admissions requirements, etc.), ratio
of students entering higher institutions and the quality of relevant institutions.

※ Master’s Program applicants must have received their entire education until bachelor’s degree
outside of Korea.
※ Those who are accepted to the university should submit a chest X-ray certificate for
tuberculosis screening.
- A chest X-ray certificate must be less than two months old at the time of move-in.
- The certificate should be submitted three weeks before moving into dormitory.
- The certificate should be in English or Korean. Certificate in another language should be
accompanied by a notarized English translation.

6. Admissions Criteria
Admissions decisions are based on the candidates’ academic achievements, potential, his or
her personal accomplishments as well as interviews. However, applicants staying abroad may
possibly be exempted from interviews. (Interviews may be required by telephone as
necessary)

9) All transfer applicants who have completed at least two years of a degree program at a
four-year university must submit documentation that verifies that their current institution
is equivalent to a four-year university.
10) Foreign students whose parents are not citizens of Korea should submit official
documents indicating parent-child relationship between the applicant and his/her parents
from the students’ government.
11) Be sure to make and keep photocopies of all completed forms. Submitted documents
become property of SeoulTech and will not be returned to the applicants.
12) Applicants take full responsibility for any problems that might arise due to mistakes
and/or omissions on any application material. If it turns out that submitted documents are
fake, offer of admission will be revoked.
13) Those applicants who were previously admitted to SeoulTech through international
admissions and intend to apply to a Master's or Doctoral program are exempt
from submitting the following: Official certificates of graduation and transcripts from
schools and/or universities outside of Korea. Applicants exempt from submitting any of
the above documents should submit the Certificate of Attendance or Graduation at
SeoulTech instead.
14) Admissions scores remain undisclosed.
15) Korean citizens who hold dual citizenship are considered as ‘Applicants of Korean
Origin’ and they are not eligible to apply as foreign students.
16) When students who completed their entire education outside of Korean and one or both
of their parents are Korean apply for freshman undergraduate programs, each applicant is
allowed to apply up to six times a year. Application received seventh or after in time
sequence will be cancelled and also admission offer will be revoked.
17) All the international students should purchase medical insurance when entering into
Korea after admitted. (You may get health insurance personally or you can request any
insurance information to Office of International Affairs.)

• Screening Documents: Decisions of Screening Documents are based on the candidates’ academic
achievements, study plan, SAT, etc. as A(Excellent), B(Good), C(Average).
• To receive a scholarship, the undergraduate recipients must complete at least 12 credits without receiving
an F grade, and the graduate recipients must complete 6 credits at least with C grades or above.
• To receive a scholarship, the undergraduate recipients must have at least TOPIK level 4 (or above) or
TOEFL iBT 80 (or above) or equivalent official English tests.
• For undergraduate students, boarding fees of quad(four beds) room will be provided except vacation time.
• For graduate students, boarding fees(except single room) will be provided including vacation time.
