Collaborative Unit on Digital Citizenship Outline

Topic: What is Digital Citizenship and how can students apply it into the virtual classroom
Needs Assessments:
 Students need to understand the importance of cyberbullying. Students need to learn how
to engage respectfully with students and teachers during a positive virtual classroom
environment.
 Students need to understand the importance of Information Literacy. Students need to
learn the correct way to cite information on a classwork assignment or research.
Learner Analysis:
 4th Grade students at Lee Street Elementary
 The school is Tier-1
 Students are between the ages of 9-10.
 There are 56% of girls and 44% of boys in the class.
 There is 4% Hispanic learner and 96% of African American learners in the class.
Instructional Objectives:
1. Students will be able to explain what Digital Citizenship is and apply it to their virtual
classroom.
2. Students will be able to given examples of Digital Citizenship in classroom settings.
3. Students will be able to create a small presentation about digital citizenship.
Assessment Plan:
 Formative: Quiz asking what students know about Digital Citizenship already.
 Formative: Discussion students will be able to have discussions about what they want
they want to know about Digital Citizenship and what they may be confused about.
 Summative: Students will create a small presentation about digital citizenship.
