Atari SIO2PC Cable Build Guide

The document provides instructions for building two types of SIO2PC cables to connect Atari peripherals to a computer using either a PL2303TA or FT232RL USB-TTL chipset. Both cable types can be used with the RespeQt and AspeQt disk drive emulators, and the FT232RL version is also compatible with APE Atarimax software. Pinouts are given for connecting the Atari SIO connector to the chipset in each cable build. Additional information on purchasing SIO cables or the emulation software can be found online or through the referenced BBS site.

Atari SIO2PC Build Instructions for AspeQt (2K21)

Building an Atari SIO2PC cable is very simple and parts can be purchased on Amazon for under $15.00! Below
outlines the pin layouts for building two different cables using a PL2303TA chipset and/or a FT232RL chipset. Both
cables can be used with the RespeQt and the AspeQt disk drive/peripheral device emulator. The FT232RL chipset
version can also be used with the APE Atarimax software. An Atari SIO connector is also required for the cable.
SIO cables can be purchased often on eBay or here: [Link]
