Concept Notes:

Most libraries use the Dewey Decimal System in arranging their books. This system was
developed by a man named Melvil Dewey. He divided books into ten classes, then used decimals to
further subdivided each class into smaller classes. The books are numbered according to their
classification, and then arranged on the shelves according to number.
