INTRODUCTION
• Privat Hospital was a 75 bed multispecialty hospital, which attempts to make the
experience of a hospital stress free under the circumstances of illness or injuries.
• HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd (HCG), India’s largest provider of cancer care is at
the forefront of the battle against cancer.
• This hospital is the collaboration between Privat Hospital and Health Care Global
Enterprises Ltd.(HCG).
INTRODUCTION
• This renovated hospital will have a Proton Bunker Therapy to treat cancer patients.
• In the field of medical procedures, proton therapy, or proton radiotherapy, is a type
of particle therapy that uses a beam of protons to irradiate diseased tissue, most
often in the treatment of cancer. The chief advantage of proton therapy over other
types of external beam radiotherapy is that as a charged particle the dose is
deposited over a narrow range of depth, and there is minimal entry, exit, or
scattered radiation dose.

❑ The hospital is basically a six storey building providing adequate and appropriate
medical services.

• It is located on the road connecting Mehrauli and Gurugram, near MG road
metro station.
• It lies on a service road of MG road which is 10 m wide.

PRINCIPAL OF HOSPITAL DESIGN
➢ Protection from unwanted and unnecessary disturbances in order to help speedy
recovery.

➢ Separation of dissimilar activities.

➢ Control - the nurse station should be positioned strategically to enable proper


monitoring of visitors entering and leaving the ward, infants and children should be
protected from theft and infection etc.

➢ Circulation – all the departments of a hospital must be properly integrated.

FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION
• The principle is that the shape of a building or object should be primarily
based upon its intended function or purposes.
• In architecture, functionalism is the principle that architects should design
a building based on the purpose of that building.

The façade of the building gives an


interesting form to the building.
As following the principle of functionalism,
the building is designed according to it.
Artificial green patches are used to cover
the ducts.

ARCHITRCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS
• With the principle of ‘Form
Follows Function’, different
elements of the façade will be
constructed with help of MS
Frame and ACP (Aluminium
Composite Panel).
• Artificial Green Walls on the
front façade are used because it
has the feature which are
appealing in the nature.
• Duct is another architectural
element in the form of building,
ducts render the verticality to
the building.

• Circulation is one of the very important factors to be considered in the planning.

• Circulation pattern is such that the movement of the user is straight forward.

provided around the building

• 1 Water tank of capacity 2,00,000L is provided in
D-block(not in our scope) for hose reel.
• The pipe of diameter 6” connected to the tank is
installed at every floor.

• STRUCTURE : RCC structure is used for the building with earthquake consideration.
• WALLS : Standard and concrete bricks are used for the construction of walls.
• WALL FINISHES : ACP panels and glazing are used on the external façade of the
building.
• FLOOR FINISHES : Ceramic tiles, Vitrified tiles, Granite, Italian Marble, Vinyl are used
on the floor of the building
• TOILET FIXTURES : Toilet Fixtures used are either floor mounted or wall mounted
with cisterns; Wash basins used are wall mounted; shower and faucets are made of
SS.
• JOINERY : Door and windows are either wooden or aluminium of various sizes.
