ETHICS B2 AND B1
JACOB C. PUTALAN
1. Can you think of any actions, attitudes, or policies that would be disqualified by the
universability test, but that you would still wish to maintain were morally permissible? How would
you argue?
Answers:
Judging people that did you know about her/him background it can cause to you
effects to other forms of discrimination. People describe feeling isolated, ashamed,
misunderstood, criticised and demeaned. Judging can also result in people being less
likely to talk about what they're going through and ask for the help they need. Don’t
judge other and discriminate because it can destroy the image of human being.
2. Three accounts of happiness are included in Utilitarianism: the balance of pleasure over pain,
the achievement of one’s goals, and satisfaction with one’s life as a whole. Can you think of any
other alternatives? Which do you think is most adequate? Why?
Answers:
For me I can provide the best alternative, but for me in the society what I observe in this
generation a lot of people are racist in the people who are poor, many people who live in extreme
poverty are often also victims of discrimination on grounds such as birth property, national and
social origin, race, colour and religion. Poverty is both a cause and a product of human
rights violations. In 2001 the World Conference against Racism in Durban emphasized that
poverty, underdevelopment, marginalization, social exclusion and economic disparities are
closely associated with racism, and contribute to the persistence of racist attitudes and
practices which in turn generate more poverty. Plsss don’t judge or discriminate people
because that people are also human, also have a feelings. The most important is we are
human in this world we are not permanent in this world, enjoy the life without discriminate
and racist. Live free
3. Having analysed various morally controversial issues, and the applications of the different
ethical theories to them, do you think that one ethical approach is better than the others. Justify
your answer.
