Physical Fitness is classified into two components: Health-related fitness and Skill-related fitness.
Health-related fitness is related to how well the systems of the body work while Skill-related fitness forms the foundation
toward athletic performance.
A. Health-related fitness
1. Body Composition- is the comparative body fat percentage.
2. Cardiovascular fitness - is the ability of your heart to pump effectively to meet the metabolic demands
during exercise.
3. Flexibility- is the range of movements of the joints. It determines the condition of the hamstring muscles
(back of thigh).
4. Muscular strength - is the ability of the muscle to produce an amount of force in a single contraction.
5. Muscular endurance- is the capacity of the muscle group to sustain a prolonged muscle contraction.
B. Skill-related fitness
1. Speed- is the capacity of the body to move from one point to another following a straight line.
2. Agility- is the ability of the body to shift direction from one place to another.
3. Balance- is the capacity of the body to maintain upright posture even when moving.
4. Coordination- is when all the body parts are harmoniously working together to successfully execute a
movement.
5. Power -is the ability to transfer a certain amount of force at a rapid pace.
6. Reaction- time is the ability of a person to respond quickly to stimulus.
