Project description:

Students will engage and participate in a music college like curriculum in which they will

have access to industry standard equipment, studios, and music professors who are

knowledgeable in numerous music fields. The project will offer classes to develop technical

skills, theoretical studies, basic principles of music production, and sound engineering.

The classes are:

- Jazz Harmony

- Traditional theory

- Solfege

- Logic, Ableton, and Pro Tools techniques.

- Private instrument instruction

- Ensembles

- Control systems.

Experience:

As part of a group, my participation will contribute in the technical aspect of the program and

will give me the opportunity to share my experience as an electronic music producer and

performer. This experience will allow me to grow in both a personal and professional way as

I contribute in the formation of future musicians and obtain a larger scope of what is required

to establish programs to benefit low-income students. The information needed is the

knowledge of the different required courses included in the curriculum of Music Colleges

and Universities, marketing and organizational strategies.


Personnel:

Work participants would include:

- College student interns

- Music professors from local music universities and high school programs.

- Guest speakers for special seminars.

Marketing/Promotion:

Our target would be mainly high school students and the plan to reach to them would be

through all social media like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and news websites. Also live

performances will transmitted live online through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitch as a way to

motivate them into exposing themselves into a positive ambience of music creation and

understanding. Different music competitions will be held in which participants demonstrate

musical skills as well as performance.

Evaluation:

The attendance of high school students in this program aims to increase a higher

percentage rate in their acceptance in music colleges or universities. A study from Children’s

Music Workshop show that schools without music programs have an 72.9% graduation and

84.9% when in contrast those that do have a music program have a 90.2% graduation rate and

93.9% attendance rate. This said, upon high school graduation, by having a higher graduation
we can have students better prepared to enter college and at the same time have funds to open

and help different music programs in schools with low-income population or under privileged

schools that do not have resources needed to offer these programs. Once the program ends,

students will be applying to the music college of preference with a letter of recommendation

from the program and the success of the program will be based on the acceptance rate of students

who accomplish being accepted.
