Serial Port, Parallel Port and USB

A port acts as an interface between the computer and or peripheral


Devices. There are many types of port like serial port, parallel port, USB
etc.
Serial Port: A serial port is a interface which connect peripheral
devices and computer through serial communication.
Parallel Port: A parallel port is a parallel communication interface
Which connect peripheral devices and computer
USB: It is a cable connection interface between computer and
external device.

The relation between peripheral and interfacing is to connect with
computer so that it can give instruction to CPU.
Peripheral needs interface to communicate with CPU. We use
peripheral devices to connect with a computer. And interface helps to
make connection between them. So interface is the process to connect
peripheral and computer. Through interface peripheral devices connect
to a CPU and exchange information easily.
