Eddy Current Inspection Report for Transocean

An eddy current inspection was performed on welds on the port side flare boom king post of a vessel for Transocean. The inspection used two probes at different frequencies and gains to inspect 33% of vertical diagonal bracings, the top pad eye, 25% of chords, and 100% of accessible post to deck connection welds. No defects were found that did not meet specifications.

1. 33% of Vertical Diagonal Bracings of King Posts.


2. Top Pad Eye.
3. 25% of Chords on the Flare Boom.
4. 100% of Post to Deck connection welds where accessible

Results: No defective indications evident at the time of inspection.
