Sample Questions

1. What is the rationale (reasons and incidence) of your research?

 The rationale or the reason of our research is that, education has changed

dramatically, with distinctive rise of online learning whereby teaching is

undertaken remotely and or digital flat forms and by that we wanted to

know the effects of online classes to the study habits of students towards

online learning. We also want to know the relationship of study habits

and online learning towards online classes because we as a student,

learning through online is difficult to handle and to adjust in the new of

learning environment. This has led the students to do more activities

without considering on how to manage their time in a well-manner.

Knowing the fact that there are various effects brought by the new

normal most especially towards the students who are struggling with the

current situation. Meanwhile, the other areas that we would like to

explore the changes in study habits of the students of the students

towards online learning.

2. What do you think are the contributions of your study to the society or to

the study’s relevant field?

 This study will be beneficial to the following:

Students. These research findings would serve as a student’s self-evaluation

for students to learn more or give more interest and become more serious on

the effects of online classes. It enables students to learn at their own pace.

Also to increase their interest because of the technology integrated into

school lessons.

Teachers. The teachers can also help them to improve their teaching skills

and they would be aware of the effects of online classes to students. Enable

them also to deliver learning materials anywhere and anytime to the

students. It will aid them to understand the behaviour and experiences of the

students to provide practical interventions to improve their time

management towards online learning.

Future Researchers. This study will serve as their guide in conducting

similar studies to unravel more information about the beneficial and

advantageous side of online learning.

3. What is the most relevant theory of your study?

 In the study of research gate, students frequently encountered the

difficulty in adjusting learning styles or their study habits, having to

perform responsibilities at home, and poor communication between

educators and learners.

4. What are the major variables and sub-variables in your study?

 The major variable are dependent and independent variables. While the

sub-variables are organization of learning materials, establish good study

habits and proper management.

5. What is the paradigm of your study?

 The paradigm in our study is that the dependent variable is the Grade 12

ABM students and the independent variables is the effects of online

classes to the study habits of students towards online learning.

6. What is the setting of your study?

 The setting of our study is through online.

7. What is your research design? Explain.

 The study will use a survey approach in conducting a research wherein

investigations are administered by the researchers to collect quantitative,

numbered data using questionnaires or interviews and statistically

analyze the data to describe trends about responses to questions and to

test research questions and hypothesis. A correlation approach will be

used in order to investigate the direction and magnitude of relationships

among variables. Also, it is designed to study the significant changes in

one phenomenon or characteristic that affects the other.

8. Who are the respondents of your study?

 A total of thirty (30) students which compose of fifteen (15) students in

every sections of Grade 12 ABM- St. Gregory the Great and Grade 12

ABM – St. Bernadine of Sienna of Senior High School Department that

will be used as respondents and will

be subjected for answering the survey questionnaires in order to

determines the effects of online classes to the study habits of Grade 12-

ABM students towards online learning in St. Anthony’s College.

9. How will you select your respondents?

 The study will use simple random sampling technique. This kind of

sampling technique is a method of choosing samples in which all of the

members of the population are given an equal chance to be selected as

respondents.

[Link] did you come up with your instruments?

 We came up with our instruments which is close ended questionare

because it is easier and quicker for respondents to answer and answersare

easier to code and statisticaly analyzed.

[Link] will you validate your instruments?

 We will validate our instruments by approaching the person with

authority, specifically our research adviser to check the instruments.

Also, we will validate our instruments by correlating it our two (2)

statement of the problem since it needs to measure what is putative to.

[Link] will you establish your instrument’s reliability?

 We will establish our instruments reliability by measuring the

consistency of the result of our survey questionnaires from the

respondents answers. Also, through giving them related questions we can

test if the instruments is really reliable.

13. How will you gather your data?

 First, Designing, Constructing and Validatng of Survey Questionnaires.

Second, Preliminary Survey. Third, Distribution of Survey. Forth,

Retrieval of Survey Questionnaire. Fifth, Tabulatin and Coding. Lastly,

Interpretation of Data.
[Link] do you plan to come up with the results of your study?

 We will come up with the results of your study by solving using the

statistical tools which are mean, frequency and percentage. Through this

we will be able to use chi-square that is also needed in solving Pearson r

to know the correlation of our two variables with the use of coefficient

correlation guide.

[Link] statistical treatment will you apply?

 The mean is used to determine the average profile of the selected

respondents and will be used to derive the central tendency of the data in

the questionnaires.

 The frequency will be used to determine the number of repetitions of a

periodic process in a unit of time.

 Percentage will be used to determine the number, proportion, or

percentage of items in a particular category in a set of data in the study.

 The chi-square will be used to test the difference between the observed

and expected frequencies.

 Pearson r will also be used to test the correlation coefficient of the

relationship between the two variables.

16. Why you use close ended questionnaires?

 We chose close ended questionnaires as a research instrument because

we get higher response rates when our respondents don’t have to type so

much. Also

Answers to close ended questionnaires can easily be analyze statistically.

17. Why ABM 12?

 We are interested considering that we are also from ABM Grade 12. They

can provide information that can help with our study. The researchers were

also curious if there are any effects of online classes to the study habits

towards online learning. And also due to some issues brought by the

pandemic in order to constraint the time that will be involved in surveying

and subsequent data analysis.

18. What is the setting of the study?

The setting of the our study is through online.

19. Why did you conduct this study?

We chose this study because it is relevant in today's problem

experienced by the society especially the students. Because as a student

online class has greatly affected my study habits.

20. What are the barriers on your study?

Time is the barrier in our study because our study will be limited to

G12 ABM students only in order to constraint the time that will be

involved in surveying and subsequent data analysis.

21. How will you choose gour respondents?

We used random sampling where we randomly select our respondents

22. How would you relate the study with yourself?

I can relate to our study since I am also a student who is currently

experiencing the new learning system brought by the pandemic. It give

different effects in my study habits in learning online and by this, I can

apply the gathered information from our study in my daily life as a

student.
