Proposed Philippine Culinary and Gastronomic Center: An Interactive Museum and
Research Facility for promoting Filipino Cuisine Heritage (Implementing Interactive
Architectural Approach)
INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
Filipino cuisine was influenced by different countries due to being colonized for
centuries. It evolves from the Malayo-Polynesian origins into a mixed of Chinese,
Hispanic, American and other Asian influences that the Filipino has been adapted to
create a distinctively Filipino dish. As the Filipino cuisine evolves, many Filipinos
were no longer familiar to other cuisine as there were other cuisines that were more
popular in the Philippines such as Japanese and Italian cuisines. And despite being
promoted in other countries by our government, there was not enough promotion of
it in the country and many people wondered what was Filipino Cuisine was.
Justification of the Study
Promoting and familiarization of the Filipino to its own cuisine had been a long
gone campaign. A petition had been created which implies the yearly celebration of
"Buwan ng Kulinaryang Pilipino," celebration of Philippine Food Festival as part of
the National Arts Month, and the inclusion in National Heritage month. Also the
establishment of research and development center for in-depth studies on
Philippine gastronomy.
Research Topic Background
In general terms, Interaction was a mutual relation occurs among two or more
persons or group. It is an activity with an effect on each other. Hence, interactive
architecture or interactive architectural approach is having a mutual relations
between the different factors affecting architectural design process that are
analyzed based on it resulting to a relative balance of mutual interactions.
Envisioned Development
The development is envisioned to cater the purpose of familiarization of each
Filipinos to its cuisine heritage. Also, the development envisioned to invites tourism
opportunities and education about the Filipino cuisine heritage.
Goals and Objectives
Goals
The main goal of the project is to advocate the preservation of Filipino cuisine as
a cultural heritage and familiarized the new generation to other Filipino dishes.

Providing field of creation and development for gastronomic studies focusing
in Filipino cuisine
