Hope Channel Visayas – Let’s Pray Pilipinas
General Guidelines for Script Writers
Introduction
Before starting anything regarding the ministry, ask the Lord for guidance for the script to have
power. Remember that you, the writers, hold what the hosts convey on the national TV. Whatever our
efforts of writing will be none effect if without His power.

Part 1 – About
Let’s Pray Pilipinas - Cebu formerly Let’s Pray Visayas is a Christian television program that
invites the viewers to pray together regardless of gender, age, religion, and nationality. It embodies a
united prayer notwithstanding the distance each viewer may be from. The prayer requests and praise
reports are sent by the viewers to be aired when requested after proper screening for propriety and
relevance.
“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am with them.” Matthew 18:20
Part 2 – Content
1. Topic
i. Each episode has a predetermined topic for the month or week. It is the
writer’s duty to provide a specific content and research for the hosts’ dialogue
content
ii. Content must be Truth based, Bible-based, and Fact-based. Be careful in
selecting sources, authors, and websites that might bring a misrepresentation of
the Advent message.
iii. This program is alongside other media presentations; strive to be creative
enough to present the same food in another flavor. Look for other angles of the
story, think of “catch” phrases that will gain viewer’s interest.
iv. Note that viewers may or may not have a background of the bible or the Spirit
of prophecy. Just like Jesus made Object lessons for the people to understand
God’s love, present the topic in a manner that the simplest of the viewers may
understand but not too obscure nor plain for the prudent.

2. Quote of the day
i. Quotations are not limited to Bible verse and Spirit of Prophecy. However, check
the background of the person quoted. Known leaders, speakers, or even local
pastors’ saying can be quoted, given that it is from a verified source to avoid
incorrect information shared on national TV.
ii. It is recommended that the quote of the day is directly or indirectly connected
to the episode topic for a strong idea build-up.
3. Script drive
i. The script drive is a summary of information for discussion. It is up to the host to
elaborate on the topic. This helps the hosts to fix their discussions on the right
direction in a brief period. Compress the ideas into 2-3 major points you wish to
be emphasized.
ii. Under the main points for emphasis, it is recommended to provide a sentence,
or phrase with its respective source (e.g. verse, Book and page number) for
easier reference. Underlines, capitalizations, or Bold-faced letters may be used
to highlight.
iii. Due to unexpected time constraints, the script might be read minutes before
the program start. Making the script drive concise and easy to read helps the
hosts to process better. Avoid verbose passages and make it straight to the
point.
iv. References may be put at the end of the script drive or at the side note of the
script for the hosts’ reference. Always verify source before publishing.
v. Episode writers are encouraged to approach or communicate to the hosts
directly to brief about the topic discussion.
4. Feature News
i. This applies for Thursday episodes only as of writing. Select news to feature that
has a relevance to the majority. From that worldly perspective, divert the news
to the gospel message that could share God’s love to the world.
ii. In special cases, the Hope Channel Team may cover events or promotions for an
upcoming event, coordinate with the volunteers concerned for the details to be
incorporated with the episode.

5. Spiels
i. Opening: This is one of the heaviest line by the hosts. It will determine if the
viewers will stay or move to the next channel. Appealing lines or catchy phrases
give weight.
ii. Each host has a specific spiel. Change whenever host is assigned on an episode.
Part 3 – Proofreading and Uploading
i. Read and re-read before uploading the file. You may ask any senior writers to
check for you. Tag the hosts and technical staff to facilitate printing.
ii. Begin and end with a prayer. Let the Lord give understanding to the people who
will deliver and listen to the program
Golden Tip: After writing, leave your document for a while then reread. This will make
your inaccuracies visible.
Part 4 – Timetable
i. As agreed on the meeting, it is best to upload the A DAY BEFORE the episode
will be aired. The earlier the better for the convenience of the technical staff
who will make the Quote of the day and the topic graphic promotion.
