How To Use
The worksheets are divided into four sections: Writing Practice, Flashcards, Missing
Strokes, and Challenges. If the words in this collection are new to you, try working
through the worksheets in the order listed below.
WRITING PRACTICE
The writing practice worksheets provide the pinyin pronunciation and English definition of
each word as well as the stroke order and radical component for each character in a word.
The worksheets are the same, except for the size of the boxes.
Trace each character four times then continue to write each character in the remaining boxes.
Try doing all three sizes to get the most practice.
01 Writing Practice [Link]
The large version of the writing practice worksheet gives you
a lot of room to learn complex characters with many strokes.
02 Writing Practice [Link]
The medium version of the writing practice worksheet
provides the opportunity to practice each character twice as
many times as the large version at a smaller but still
comfortable size.
03 Writing Practice [Link]
The small version of the writing practice worksheet allows you
to practice characters at a smaller size closer to regular
handwriting.

FLASHCARDS
Flashcards are a great way to learn new vocabulary fast! These flashcards are designed to
easily fit in your pocket, purse or wallet so you can study while riding the bus, standing in line
or waiting for the kettle to boil. There are three variations of flashcards depending on your
preference.
04 Single Sided [Link]
These are onesided flashcards; the Chinese vocabulary
word, pinyin and English appear on the same side of each
card. Print and cut along the pale gray dotted lines.
Tip Instead of pulling a card from the top of the deck, pull
each card from the bottom of the deck, revealing only
the Chinese characters while keeping the pinyin and
English answers hidden.
05 Doubled Sided [Link]
These flashcards are designed to be printed on the front and
back of the same piece of paper. Once printed, cut along the
pale gray dotted lines.
06 Memory [Link]
Memory (or Pair Matching) is a fun game you can play by
yourself or with others. Cut out all the cards along the pale
gray dotted lines, spread them out upside down and take
turns flipping over two cards at a time looking for a match. If
you get a match, remove the matching pair and find another
pair.
