Narrative:
In my student teaching, I taught a
biology class for 9th and 10th
graders. When we were learning
about the basics of DNA, there was
some controversy about the structure
of the DNA. When I was preparing
my lesson, a lot of the information I
was looking at only credited Watson
and Crick for finding the shape of
DNA. However, there was one Reflection:
person before them who actually I thought that this was a good topic to
found the shape, this was Rosalind bring up while we were learning
Franklin. She actually found the about the structure of DNA. There
shape of DNA before Watson and have been a few times in history
Crick but they took her work, built where a woman has not gotten credit
upon it and published it without for her work because of the fact that
giving her any credit. she was a woman. I had the students
try to come up with reasons why she
did not get credit and they got it for
the most part. It is good for the
students to be aware of these
problems that occurred in the past so
they are knowledgeable on it and do
not make the same mistakes in their
lives.
