Tie Wire Computation for Slabs and Footings

The document contains sample computations for reinforcement requirements for slab on grade and footings. It calculates the number of tie wires needed for three different slab surface areas by dividing the surface into pieces based on spacing and multiplying by the number of pieces. It also calculates the kilograms of tie wire needed. It then lists the number of footings in the plan and calculates the number and length of bars needed based on the number of footings and bars per footing.

SAMPLE COMPUTATION:

SLAB ON GRADE

Surface Area 1= 4.5m x 3m

= Distance/Spacing

= (4.5/0.2)+1

= 23.5 say 24 pieces

= Distance/Spacing

= (3.0/0.2)+1

= 16 pieces

TIE WIRES: 24x16= 384

384x0.3=115.2 m
115.2/53= 2.17 kilos say 3 kilos

Surface Area 2= 9m x 3m

= Distance/Spacing

= ((6.0/0.2)+1) + ((3.0/0.2)+1)

= 47 pieces
= Distance/Spacing

= (3.0/0.2)+1

= 16 pieces

TIE WIRES: 47x16= 752

752x0.3=225.6 m

225.6/53= 4.25 kilos say 5 kilos

Surface Area 3= 13m x 6m

= Distance/Spacing

= ((6.0/0.2)+1) + ((6.0/0.2)+1) + ((0.1/0.2)+1)

= 68 pieces

= Distance/Spacing

= (6.0/0.2)+1

= 31 pieces

TIE WIRES: 68x31= 2108

2108x0.3=632.4 m

632.4/53= 11.93 kilos say 12 kilos

FOOTINGS

Plan: 4-16mmф Bothways

22 pcs footings

4 pcs x 22 footings = 88

88/24= 4 pcsф16mmx6.0m bars

4 pcs x 22 footings = 88

88/24= 4 pcsф16mmx6.0m bars

No. of bars per footing: 8 pcs 16mmфbars

Total no. of bars for 22 footings: 8x22= 176ф16mmx6.0m
