The following is the technical documentation you requested. This document describes
my plan and decision-making process for Project 2.
Context
Audience
My audience is music-listeners who enjoy the subgenres of alt rock and indie. This
slidecast will be specifically oriented for listeners that don’t have technical knowledge of
the difference between the genres.
Need
This audience will find my slidecast useful to have conversations with others about
music. Music taste is a common topic of conversation when meeting new friends or
dating. I find it difficult to classify my music taste in a way others will understand.
Therefore, I will give technical definitions and comparisons of two popular genres/music
terms so it is easier to have these conversations.
Option
I will provide technical definitions of my terms to best suit my audience. Alt rock and
indie are both terms that are heard frequently, but it’s unclear exactly what they entail. A
technical definition will answer this question.
Rhetorical Moves
By nature of my chosen topic, I will be comparing alt rock and indie.
Organizing Pattern
I will use a compare and contrast organizing pattern for my slide cast. I will give a
technical definition of both alt rock and indie genres, and compare where they are similar
and different.
