Hardtop Alfa Surface Preparation Guide

This technical data sheet provides application instructions for Hardtop Alfa, a protective coating. It can be applied by spray, brush, or roller to clean and dry coated surfaces. The product mixing ratio is 8 parts Hardtop Alfa Comp A to 1 part Hardtop Alfa Comp B. Jotun Thinner No. 10 is recommended for thinning and cleaning. Airless spray nozzle tips between 13-19 thou with a minimum pressure of 150 bar are suggested. Air spray should use 11-19 thou tips at a minimum pressure of 2.1 bar.

Application methods
The product can be applied by

Spray: Use air spray or airless spray.


Brush: Recommended for stripe coating and small areas. Care must be taken to achieve the
specified dry film thickness.
Roller: May be used. Care must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness.
