5.13 Replacement of the cutter blade

1) Replacement time
The cutter blade should be replaced at every 2 months.

2) Use at the reversed state

If one side of the cutter blade goes beyond 2R, use the cutter blade at the reversed state. Grind the used
side with a grinder and attach the cutter blade so that the cutter may come into close contact with the
cutter base.

3) Mounting and adjustment

Fig. 4-1 shows how to removes the cap screw for mounting the cutter blade.
The shim plates for adjusting the cutter blade position can be removed together with the cutter blade. Fig.
4-1 shows how to attach the new cutter blade by adjusting the number of shim plates to be set.
Tighten the cutter blade temporarily and then drive the blade with a wooden hammer so as to drive the
blade to comes into close contact with the cutter base and tighten the blade finally.
Adjust the gap between two cutter blades to 0.5mm-1mm.
If the gap is widened due to wears, adjust it again in the above manner.

5 Inspection & Maintenance

5.14 Replacing tooth

If the tooth is worn, remove it by gouging and gas gouging. Install a new tooth by welding using a high
tension steel magnesium, welding solid wire, or a high tension steel welding coated electrode 60cm2
Conduct multi layer welding about 10 to 15 layers, the layers must be continuous from the first to the last
layers.
Before welding, preheat both the tooth and the base material to 150 C.
Provide sufficient pre heating in winter.

Checking the ends of the teeth and the arms for wear and build up welding.
The arms are also wear-off parts. Although they are made of wear resistant material, they will wear when
used for crushing concrete lumps.
If worn arms are used, the machine can not deliver sufficient crushing force and the arms may be
damaged seriously.
Careful maintenance such as build-up of the teeth prevent serious problems and ensures the maximum
crushing performance at all times.

When only the surface layer is worn :

When only the hard material on the surface is worn, perform build-up welding using a well dried welding
rod to the base preheated to between 150 C to 180 C.

When the base material of the arm is worn :

When the base material of the arm is worn, perform build-up welding to restore its former shape using a
well dried welding rod to the base preheated to between 150 C and 180 C, then perform under laying.
Then, build up the surface layer as described.
