STAD Method Boosts Trigonometry Learning

Things background of this research is low learning outcomes mathematics students,


the lack of activity as well as the cooperation of students in the process of learning in
class X SMK Yos Sudarso Ende. The cause of the low student learning outcomes the
learning process-oriented or centered on the teacher. Teacher often using conventional
methods in learning. In order to learning more impressed and easily understood by
students then very required the implementation of a learning model that can make
students can think better and creative so learning is no longer centered on the teacher.
One way that can be used to support the learning process above is cooperative learning
type STAD ( Student Teams Achievement Division).

This research is a Class Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each
cycle consists of four stages of the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.
Subject of this research is grade students X Accounting SMK Yos Sudarso Ende the scool
year 2017/2018 by the number of students as much as Thirty-three students that consists
of Twenty-six female students and seven male students. Engineering data collection
through observation and test. Instruments research using the test at the and the cycle and
observation sheet activity teacher and students.

The results of this study showed increased activity teacher and students as well as a
student learning outcomes. The first cycle the teacher’s activities 75,38%, activity
students 76%, the average value class 64,39, completeness classical 45,45%. The second
cycle teacher’s activities 93,84%, activity students 94%, the average value class 83,18,
completeness classical 100%. Thus concluded that the application of cooperative learning
type STAD can increase learning outcomes mathematics material trigonometry student-
class X SMK Yos Sudarso Ende year 2017/2018.
