A DILIGENT STUDENT

This boy is Bayu. He is an Elementary student. He is very diligent. He is living in the


village with his parents. His school is very far from his house. He is going to school by a bicycle.
It is big and very old. His teacher, Mrs. Maryam likes him. He is also very helpful to all his
friends.

One Monday morning, Bayu is coming late at school. The school is holding a flag
ceremony and the school gate is closed. Bayu is standing in front of the gate and is giving respect
to the flag rising. He is doing it like all of his friends in the school yard. When the flag ceremony
is over, Mrs. Maryam is opening the gate. Bayu says sorry for being late to his teacher. Mrs.
Maryam asks Bayu to come into the classroom.

One day Mr. Bill went to the town alone. He wanted to take a walk to refresh
from his daily work. He went there by his old bicycle. He rode it slowly while enjoying
the view at both side of the street. He whistled sweetly as if he had forgotten
everything he had had at home. His big hat sheltered his face from the bright shining
sun.

After he rode his bicycle several miles, he felt thirsty and hungry. He stopped at
a food stall. It was small, clean and crowded. Many people ate some food and drank
there. Mr. Bill had a nice seat with a beautiful woman. They talked about everything
while waiting for their meal and drink. They also joked happily.

Suddenly a waitress came. She brought them different food orders. There was
also a cat looking for dropping food there. When Mr. Bill and the woman were eating
their food nicely, Mr. Bill sneezed hard. Something dropped from his mouth. The cat
caught it and ran away. The woman was surprised and asked him, ”What is that, Mr.
Bill? The naughty cat took my teeth. He answered shyly.
