Recycle Material Balance in Industry

The students will analyze the production process of a snacks company to formulate a material balance for each operation, considering solid and water waste. They will then propose an alternative material balance that recycles solid and water waste by reintroducing it into the process or using it as raw material for another company. ¿What Will You Do?

R// Recycle Material Balance is a topic of great importance, because in the actually many
industries generated solid and water waste. As students we want to do analysis about the
productive process of a snacks company and formulate the material balance for each unit
operation considering the water and solid waste.

After doing the analysis, we will propose another material balance but recycling the solid and
water waste reintroducing in the process or using the waste as raw material in another company
that can use it.

¿Why?

R// in Colombia and in the world the industries are the ones that generate the most waste in
comparison with the domestic waste because industrial waste is of a higher density and greater
generation volume.

when a company recycles its solid and liquid waste reduce the environment impacts produced by
this wastes, for example if the most companies recycles its waste, the waste mass flow that arrives
to the landfill will be less and the useful life will be higher.
