Kissan Jam: Health Benefits & Safety

Our firm produces organic herbal teas, syrups for children, and fruit jams using ingredients from local Czech suppliers. We offer six flavored teas that boost immunity, reduce stress, and help with sleep and focus. Our children's syrups contain vitamins and come in three flavors to prevent illness. Our newest product is a single-flavor jam that also contains vitamin C. For marketing, we considered campaigns to create need around health benefits or create belonging by appealing to a healthy lifestyle community. We chose the latter campaign to target people under 40 on social media by featuring recipes and influencers to increase brand awareness of our vegan, sugar-free, and gluten-free products sourced from local growers.

Presentation based on UNIT 12 (week 12) – 2AJ312 (Tuesday 9:15)

You are a small producer of organic syrup (for children) and herbal teas (both for children and
adults). You use fruits and herbs from clean region (decide yourself). (You might decide
yourself – choose any other products). Persuade us to buy your products!
Part 1: Describe your products, impacts on people’s health.
Our firm called NaturTea is a small family business based in Prague. We started several years
ago by producing herbal teas at home and selling them to our neighbours. Over the years we
expanded our production and currently we offer herbal teas, syrup for children and fruit jams.
Our products are all organic, vegan and gluten-free with fruits and herbs coming only from
several local suppliers from the Czech Republic. They do not contain any added sugar,
artificial flavourings nor other chemicals.
Our customers can choose from six different flavoured teas: mint with strawberry, mint with
blueberry, mint with apple, mint, chamomile and forest fruits. Our teas boost immunity
system, reduce stress and help with insomnia and concentration.
Our organic syrups for children are a big hit among parents. They do not substitute prescribed
medication, but they help to prevent illnesses by providing necessary vitamins. All of them
contain vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C and E. There are three flavours available: strawberry,
blueberry and cherry. Our syrups are suitable for kids from 1 year.
Our latest product is a homemade fruit jam. Besides being tasty it is also healthy. As already
mentioned, it does not contain any sugar nor chemicals and we also add vitamin C for the
immunity boost. There is only one flavour (forest fruits) but we are planning to introduce new
ones soon.
Part 2: Inform about your campaign you are working on – the aim is to create a need
Our first campaign makes people feel like they need our products. It highlights the positive
effects of our products on people’s health. There will be two versions of this campaign. One
will target parents and the other one will target the rest of our potential customers.
The first version will involve animated characters. It has to make parents feel
like the product is safe and kids friendly. It will explain that the children syrup
helps to lower the chances of catching cold, flu and other illnesses.
The second version will target adults who are trying to deal with stress or
insomnia in a natural way or just want to become healthier. We want to advertise our teas and
jam as a healthy alternative to pills and other vitamins. We will emphasise the effects it has on
immunity, sleep and stress.
Both versions will also mention that our products are gluten and sugar free and organic. We
will try to create a need by explaining that only regular consumption of vitamins helps to
boost the immunity and since our products are organic there are no side effects and they are
safe for daily use. We would advertise our products in magazines and online (social media,
websites…).

Part 3: Inform about the campaign you are working on – the aim is to create belonging
(among people with healthy lifestyle)
The second campaign will make people feel like they form a part of our community. It will
show a group of friends enjoying a picnic in the nature while drinking our tea and having a
bread with our jam. It will make you feel like you want to have our tea with your friends as
well. This campaign will emphasise the fact that our products are vegan, sugar free and gluten
free. It will of course mention the positive effects on health as well. This campaign will stress
the origin of our products. We know that people following the healthy lifestyle care about the
quality of the food they buy, and they also like to know where the food comes from.
For this campaign we would like to use our social media and provide healthy recipes which
include our products (summer drinks, homemade bread with our jam etc.). We would also
send our products to few healthy-living influencers to increase our brand awareness. As TV
advertisement is out of our budget, we would use ads on YouTube and magazines as well.
Part 4: The final decision
In the end we have decided to choose the second campaign. We think that people who are
trying to eat healthy could be interested in our products as it can be difficult to find healthy
products that suit everyone’s lifestyle and dietary restrictions. We also think that by using
social media we will get attention from people under the age of 40, which is the group we are
concentrating on. We know that older generations can be more conservative, and our products
would not have a big success. In the end, if our customers are happy, they can suggest our
products to their parents.
