1. Course Description:
Organizations are social systems and their performance is impacted by various elements that constitute an
organization. People, one of the most critical constituent elements of the organizations have the capacity to make
or mar an organization through their conduct.
The task of a manager in any organization is to work with and through other people to achieve organizational goals.
In order to perform effectively, it is imperative for them to understand the nature and characteristics of human
resources at individual & group levels and utilize this information for designing, structuring & building organizations
that can perform on a sustainable basis.

8.1 Assessment criteria of assignments:

Diary will be evaluated for the author’s authenticity, honesty, sincerity, and openness;
Self-analysis drawing the results from various exercises & discussions in the class;
Thought clarity and ability to relate and draw inferences from various life experiences and incidences;
Concept clarity, authenticity, honesty, introspection & precise articulation;
Relevance of the content (no superfluous or irrelevant information);
Reasons, arguments & analysis given to draw the personality map, relate it with organizations, jobs etc;
Format and language: clear division into sections, page numbering, small paragraphs, conversational
language.
Assessment of the group assignment paper:
The report should be presented in the following format:
names and coordinates of the executives interviewed, their brief career and current job profile;
analysis of the answers and summarized conclusions on each;
Overall summary, learning from the exercise and conclusion.
The assignment will be evaluated for its:
Authenticity & originality;
Articulation of the facts and findings;
Quality of summary and conclusions in terms of their relevance to the research question responses;
An assignment copied from the internet or peers will qualify for a zero.
