“Recollection”
It was my first time to attend recollection and I may say that this one was my most
unforgettable moments in my first year college. First, we had an activity wherein we must have a
partner then we sing a song and after the song is finish we must look for another partner. It was
fun meeting and greeting with one another from other class who had their recollection with us.
Even though we are only five in our class I enjoyed so much. I’ve met students that I’m
comfortable with.

The second activity is the paralysis which we are tends to write our own paralysis and the
names of the people who helped and inspired us to face those challenges and write a letter to
them. My paralysis is rejection. I am afraid being rejected by my friends, family, other people
and my course. It seems like I am not enough and acceptable. I wrote God first for he is the God
who made me and the God who saved me, give me strength, wisdom and knowledge. Second is
my family who’s not giving up on me, supporting me in everything I want to do, loving me for
who I am and my reason to live. The third one is my cousin named Janice, she’s my cousin,
bestfriend and sister. The one who’s giving me advices in life and motivating me. Lastly is my
friends, who’s making me happy every time I am down.

We had another activity wherein we are grouped into 5 and tend to give another meaning
for the word “success”. The synonym of success for us is “contentment” because if we achieved
our dream in life we are contented and happy of what we have and reach. After that we are asked
to think on how we may achieve our own success. There are many ways to achieve success but it
was really hard for me to think on how because sometimes I doubt myself I don’t know if I can
do such things to make me good and to achieve my goal in life. There will always be hindrances
that will stop me from the things I want to accomplish. But I know for God nothing shall be
impossible. I just need to trust and believe God. I can do all things trough Christ who
strengthened me.

Overall this recollection has a great impact in my life. I have learned a lot of lessons I
could apply in my every day life. Being not acceptable really hurt but I can’t force everyone to
accept and love me the way I am. Only God can love and accept me I am so blessed to have Him
in my life. I would do my best to solve my challenges in life with God for he is the one who give
me strength. I know someday I can achieve my ultimate goal in life which to be a Certified
Public Accountant.
