Tokyo International Industry Exhibition 2012 had 35,008 visitors. As effective measure to attract visitors, we implemented
extensible official website (made fulfilling registration system and English contents, and gave information of special plans and stage
events by official website) , sending invitations and direct mails, multiple delivery of mail magazine, mail advertisements and
advertising in national newspapers. We also attracted the television, newspapers and information magazines for the interviews.
On the main stage, ‘Tokyo Venture Technology Award Commendation Ceremony’ and ‘Tokyo Business Innovation Award
Commendation Ceremony’ were held, and also we had the various seminars like ‘Keynote Lecture’ and ‘Panel Discussion’ by
intellectuals from many fields to transmit the multiple information like economy and industrial technology that lead to the small and
medium-sized enterprises in the future.
We also provided a tool to expand their business exchanges by using QR code. For visitors, smooth entry was realized by issuing
the registration card with QR code limited pre-registration visitors. We also issued ‘QR name card’ that the visitors information
could be read out by their mobile phones and smart phones. For exhibitors, we provided exhibitors card with QR code and QR code
paper they could put on their booths, that visitors could get the exhibitors information easily and quickly.

Interviews with Exhibitors
After Tokyo International Industry Exhibition 2012, we visited three exhibitors to have interviews and obtained various
feedback about the attraction of TIIE, the exhibited results and use of exhibition, etc.

Harasawa Co., Ltd. (Arakawa-ku) Exhibited Field:Machines/Metals Zone

We manufacture ‘winding core pipes’ used for automobiles and bikes. Our purpose of exhibiting TIIE is expanding our
distribution route for new fields and new business development. We have continually exhibited this exhibition from
2009 and have some results to have business with the Healthcare/Welfare company dealing with protectors we never
had connected with. That’s why TIIE is a total exhibition that a lot of companies gather from various fields.
In our booth, our staff wearing a metal spear attracted visitors to appeal our products. This purpose was that we
could get more chances to have business meetings and exchanges by attention from visitors and exhibitors. We’ll also
exhibit next year and expect for some strategies to increase visitors like having the other exhibition held
simultaneously. We feel satisfied with exhibiting to have a lot of kind support and flexible response. Especially for Department Manager
Skill Improvement Seminar, it makes a big effect just to follow the seminar contents properly. Mr. Yuichi Nishimura

The Secret of Success for Exhibiting ‘Invite customers actively from various
perspectives to visit us’
We planned from 6 months ago for exhibiting, and showed our customers to visit our
booth by sending the invitations, direct mails, mail magazines and our website for
attracting more customers definitely. Especially for customers we’d like to reinforce our
approach, our sales staff visited them directly to show.

NAGASE (Musashimirayama City) Exhibited Field:Manufacturing Demonstration Zone

We are a company we have a special technology of ‘Spinning’ in metal processing. Now with the catch phrase
‘from a pot to NASA’, we expand across Japan as a total manufacturing company in various fields like electronics,
electric parts and medical equipment, etc.
This is a second time for us to exhibit TIIE, and this time we exhibited in the new field ‘Manufacturing
Demonstration Zone’. Last year, when we demonstrated spinning, it caused the next booths problem because of
people lined up, but this year the visitors could see it as much as they wanted. Representative
We approach for exhibiting with all the sales staffs every time. We used the young craftsman who had been working Director, President
in the 6th year on demonstration and made an appeal that we make a strong effort to pass the spinning technology. Mr. Toru Nagase
TV stations also featured us and we received a great response. We aim to increase not only the customer
satisfaction rating but also our employees and subcontracting companies satisfaction rating. Next time we will also Director, Sales staff
make a strong effort to promote our company with our products and technologies. Mr. Yuichiro Nagase

The Secret of Success for Exhibiting ‘How to make an attracting booth for visitors’
When we first exhibited, we just set out our products, so we couldn’t get any business
chance easily. Demonstration is the best way to attract visitors. We also stick to the
decorations, movies and staff’s styling to make the attracting booth. Even if we cannot
understand the customer’s needs, we think it’s important that we should talk with them
actively and bring out what they want.

General Incorporated Associations HAIZAI PROJECT(Sumida-ku) Exhibited Field:Creative Industry Zone

Our project is that we make the local area more energetic by sending ‘HAIZAI (waste material)’which is made out
from small factories everyday in the process of manufacturing, to the world as valuable ‘HAIZAI’ again through a
different lens. Our exhibit purpose is that we make some connections with new fields and local companies because
TIIE is a total exhibition many companies participate from various fields in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
This time we exhibited in the new zone named ‘Creative Industry Zone’. Our contents were kaleidoscopes made of
waste materials TIIE exhibitors offered and workshop, etc. To exhibit kaleidoscopes, we made a map of the Tokyo
metropolitan area and set each kaleidoscope on the location of the provider company. We wrote the booth number of Representative Director
the provider company on the map so that the visitors went to their booth. The visitors who the provider company Mr. Daisuke Mita
showed also came to our booth, and we could expand business chance each other.

The Secret of Success for Exhibiting ‘Effective transmission of information using SNS’

I think the transmission of exhibit information is important. 3 degrees of it;

‘Announcement’ ‘ Report of ground situation’ and ‘Report after the exhibition’ is
important. We used SNS(Social Networking Service) like Facebook and Twitter, etc. and
received a lot of feedback. To keep the new connections made through SNS after the
exhibition is important.

8
Questionnaire Result by Visitors
We sent out questionnaires to more than 1000 visitors during the exhibition and received various opinions and requests.
Visitor segments covered all the fields like ‘Manufacturing’ ‘Trader/Wholesaler’ ‘Retailer/Service Provider’ ‘Government and Municipal
Officer/Organization/Educational Institution’ ‘Service Industry’ and ‘Student’, etc. The visitors who belong to big companies were more
than 20%. Also ‘Business Manager/Executive Officer’ ‘Administrative Position’ who have a rights to purchase and put in were more than
60% beyond last year, it shows the visitors were high quality.
The first visitors were increasing 7.5 points, it shows the good effect by DM, mail magazine and promotion to the national newspaper.
Regarding the question ‘Could you accomplish your purpose?’ , the answer ‘ We could ’ is more than 90%. Additionally, regarding the next
visiting, about 90% visitors answered ‘I’d definitely like to visit’ ‘I’d like to visit as possible’ , so we can see that the rate of visitors’
satisfaction and expectation is high.
