Understanding Human Rights for All

The document discusses the history and importance of human rights. It notes that while human rights are meant to apply universally, problems still exist where not all people's rights are respected. Some leaders abuse their power out of fear of losing control. However, the document argues that ordinary people have the power to make human rights a reality by thinking of the common good and living freely within the rights that have been declared for all humans.

HUMAN RIGHTS: THE KEY TO A BETTER LIVING

A lot of us have different opinions on how should we define Human

Rights. If you’re going to ask 20 people about it then you’ll get 20
definition of human rights because it is basically based on the place or
group they belong to. Human rights are the rights you have simply because
you’re a human. It’s how you instinctively inspect and deserves to be treated
as a person. There are many kinds of rights most applied to a certain group
but human rights are the only ones applied absolutely to everyone,
everywhere.
If we’re going to go back to the ancient times there were no human
rights, if you are in the right group of people then they’re going to treat
you normally or safe but if you’re not then they’re going to treat you like a
slave. Until there’s a guy named Cyrus: The Great who decides to changed all
that, He gave freedom to the slave because he thinks that they deserve it
which for me is the right thing to do. There are many people who really don’t
think that it’s a good idea because they think that the nobles are more
powerful that the ordinary people around them like the kings, rich people or
even an emperor. As time flies by at last the human rights became the
universal rights for everyone.
While I was watching the clip it I thought that even though there’s a
human rights there’s still a lot of problems facing it such as it made me
wonder why there are people dying from starvation every day when we have the
rights to have food and shelter? Why there are people who voice out for their
freedom ended in jail? Why there are people who still suffered from slavery
around the world? Those questions made me think that maybe when the UN
declared “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” it was just optional; I mean
there’s still inequality going around even though they are aware that each
one of us have rights to do what we wanna do. I don’t know what’s going on
but I know that there are people who will never understand what human rights
is because they think highly for themselves. Some people also abuse their
power because they are afraid that there are people who will overthrow them.
Situations like that can make a big impact to the community. Most people
right now are afraid to use their rights and terrified to be the best version
of themselves.
So, the biggest question that’s still running on my mind is; who will
make those words a reality? Those words, human rights. For me, the person who
will make it a reality are not heroes or super human beings, it is US. We can
make it a reality of we think for the common good. If we show to the world
what we are made of and what is the purpose of why we are created in the
first place. We need to live freely and equally for us too have a better
future and for the future generation. Human rights is not something that we
should throw away because we think we don’t deserve it or because we are not
capable of having it. Human rights is something that we should have no matter
what circumstances or situations we are facing right now.
