SOCIAL NETWORKS
Few people imagined that social networks would have as great an impact as they
do today. But the desire to connect with other people from anywhere in the world
has made people and organizations more and more immersed in social networks;
Social networks today are very important because thanks to them we are
connected to each other, since the world in which we live is globalized and we
need to always be in communication with what happens every day. The purpose of
this essay is to learn a little more about these useful social networks.
I will start by giving an explanation of what social networks are, a bit of history
about them, my opinion, their main uses and advantages and disadvantages in
managing them.
And finally I will give a small conclusion where I will mention what I learned about
social networks.
When we talk about the social network, what comes to mind in the first place are
sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. But the idea is much older: in sociology,
for example, the concept of social network is used to analyze interactions between
individuals, groups, organizations, or even entire societies.
Social networks have motivated discussions such as the lack of privacy, but they
have also served as a means of warning for public demonstrations in protests.
These platforms also created a new form of relationship between companies and
customers, opening paths both for interaction and for the advertisement of
products or services.
It was in the 1990s, with the internet available, that the idea of a social network
also migrated to the virtual world. The [Link] site, created in 1997, is
considered by many to be the first modern social network, since it allowed users to
have a profile and add other participants in a format similar to what we know today.
The pioneer site, which at its peak had 3.5 million members, closed in 2001, but it
was no longer the only one.
Social networks are social structures made up of groups of people, which are
connected by one or more types of relationships such as friendship, kinship,
common interests or shared knowledge.
I think that social networks are very important, necessary and indispensable for the
population, since when using these sites, distances and times are reduced, since
at the moment of establishing contact with friends and acquaintances; We will
immediately be able to know what interests a certain person, such as their state of
health, their achievements, their goals, their knowledge in a certain subject, and so
on; With its use, it is possible to make new friends regardless of where they are or
live, as well as by forming this social structure it is easy to publish any type of
study, work, comment, event, invitation, etc., I believe that we As users, we have
the ability to view the information of anyone who has access to the social network.
I believe that social networks disperse us, create interest in us; They have created
relationships in which they are “friends” and their Facebook “statuses” are
commented and their “tweets” are answered, but if they were on the street they
would greet each other and continue walking, without any kind of relationship in
real life, that's why it is that we about the far away. For this reason, social networks
have quickly gained a place, becoming a promising business for companies,
artists, brands, independent professionals and, above all, human encounters in
places.
I agree with social networks because they help us to be in communication with
many people in different places, it is a network of entertainment, sharing
knowledge and learning.
But I do not agree when these social networks are used to hurt someone or harm,
so it is very important to know how to use them and not fall into misleading
information.
The purpose of social networks is to integrate as many members as possible,
thanks to the offer of various tools that guarantee the
User loyalty.
Social Networks are a powerful tool which can positively affect society since they
are a means of communication, meeting and even organization that is fast, efficient
and cheap, but at the same time it can directly and negatively affect behavior or
behavior, performance of people in a society.
With the previous essay I believe that social networks are a very valuable tool, but
that behind all this there are great dangers and that as a responsible society and
young people we can prevent, making good use of them.
