properties. oligomer encrustation’s that can form in polyester
dyeing.
• Versatile product. • Can be used for various purposes like cleaning in
full baths (e.g. closed circulating liquor dyeing
machines), cleaning by immersion in vessels and
tanks (e.g. small equipment, stirrers etc.), cleaning
by spraying (e.g. rollers, screens) and cleaning of
continuous ranges.
• Easy handling. • Low viscosity product, suitable for dosing systems.

APPLICATIONS
Dissolving / diluting
INVALON FL equipment cleaning agent is miscible with cold or warm water in all proportions and
can be applied by different methods, depending on requirements to any of the following:
Cleaning dyeing machines, material supports, preparation tanks, pumps, etc.
Required amount
In fully flooded machines
2–5 g/l INVALON® FL
Procedure
The machine, together with the material supports fitted, is fully flooded and closed. The liquor is
heated to 60–70°C and circulated via the preparation tank for about 30 min. Warm and cold rinses
follow.
To remove heavy encrustations of processing aids or dye residues and heavy oligomer deposits,
the liquor should also contain
2–6 g/l Caustic flakes or the equivalent amount of caustic soda solution and
0–3 g/l Sodium hydrosulphite.
It is also advisable to raise the liquor temperature to 100–130°C, depending on the nature of the
residues.
Cleaning machine parts that are not readily accessible, such as heat exchangers, heating or
cooling coils, spray pipes, pumps and valves:
In partially flooded machines
20–100 g/l INVALON® FL
Procedure
The INVALON FL equipment cleaning agent solution is made up and heated to 60–70°C depending
on the severity of the soiling. The soiled parts or surfaces are treated for a prolonged period at that
temperature with the liquor occasionally being pumped round. They are then thoroughly rinsed
warm and cold.
Stirrers, mixers individual machine components, canisters and other small containers can be
cleaned by prolonged steeping in an INVALON FL equipment cleaning agent solution.
Continuous ranges
15 g/l INVALON FL solution prepared at 80°C.
Pad temperature 80°C.
Machine temperature cold.
Clean leader cloth
Leader run continuously through the machine, moved from side to side using guides to clean full
width or rollers. Length of time depends upon how dirty the machine is - from 2–6 hours.

Cleaning by spraying
This routine is particularly recommended for cleaning padder bowls, printing screens and, in dye
kitchens, for cleaning tanks containers, drums, walls and floors.
Any stainless vessel designed for spraying solutions at up to 6 bars pressure is suitable for this
purpose. Small and easily manipulated commercial appliances are usually adequate.
Required amount
One part of INVALON FL equipment cleaning agent is dissolved in 1–3 parts water, depending on
severity of soiling.
Procedure
The solution is sprayed onto the parts or surfaces to be treated and left for some time to take effect.
Its action can be reinforced by brushing, if necessary. Treatment is followed by thorough rinsing
with water.
NOTES
INVALON FL equipment cleaning agent is outstandingly effective in dissolving dyes, pigments and
oligomers, and, in addition, has a generally good low-foaming cleaning action. It is therefore
suitable for all cleaning processes requiring instantaneous, effective soil removal and a low
tendency to foaming.
INVALON FL equipment cleaning agent is a versatile specialty which can often improve efficiency
by replacing a number of different cleaning products.
As a cleaning agent, INVALON FL equipment cleaning agent is not suitable for addition to
dyebaths, print pastes or other treatment liquors. Furthermore, it cannot be used as an oligomer
inhibitor.
Tests under severe conditions have shown that the quality of various rubber materials used for pad
rollers (e.g. nitrilo butadiene, chlorosulfonic polyethylene, ethylene propylene) as well as soft rubber
seals might be influenced, although from all practical experience over years no problems have ever
been reported.
