Cause and Effect of Technology on Learning

The document is a test paper for a Foundation English course assessing paragraph writing skills. It contains instructions for students to answer one question requiring a 200-word cause and effect paragraph on the topic "Technologies undermine the quality of learning." The question is followed by space for the student's response and a note to include a plagiarism checker image. The response paragraph argues that while technologies provide benefits, they can decrease learning quality by encouraging direct copying from sources, relying on tools like Google Translate, resulting in weaker writing and vocabulary skills, and wasting class time on login processes.

PARAGRAPH WRITING – CAUSE AND EFFECT

Although the technologies improve the life of mankind, but it also greatly affects the quality of
learning. Technologies does not only give many benefits to educator and students but it also decreases
the quality of learning. Technologies such Google Translate and Wikipedia are highly use by student.
Students cannot improve themselves due to their habits of copying from internet resources directly
when lecturer asked them to do some assignment. They cannot perform well in the written exam
because they usually just search on internet about the ideas and words. They hard to generate ideas
and lack of vocabulary because they were too depending on internet resources. Other than that,
technologies can make the extinction of good handwriting due to the student do their assignment
using laptop. As they gradually finished their assignment through laptop, they will feel indolent to do
the assignment in handwriting because using laptop will make their work less. Next, technology can
waste the time that allocate to the teacher to teaching the student. It’s caused when the student
needs to register or log in into the platform such as Cisco Webex before starting the class. In
conclusion I agree that technology can undermine the quality of learning
