Defines the line of sight and magnify the view of a
Telescopes graduated rod against a reference reticle, which the
enabling accurate measurements and readings to be
obtained.
Level Vials are commonly used to align many different
Level Vials surveying instruments with respect to the direction of
gravity. These are also used on tilting levels (and also
on the older dumpy levels) to precisely align the line of
sight horizontal prior to making rod readings.
Tilting Level is used for the most precise work, with
Tilting Level these instruments quick approximate leveling is
achieved using a circular vial and the leveling screws.
It is classified in the automatic category because it
uses a pendulum compensator to level itself. This
Digital Levels instrument can also be used both manually and
automatically to operate by employing electronic digital
image processing. After leveling the instrument, its
telescope is turned toward a special bar-coded rod and
focused. With a press of a button, the image of bar
codes in the telescope’s field of view is captured and
processed.
Tripods Tripods are essential to obtain a more accurate result,
most levelling instruments are mounted on tripods.
It is used with a levelling instrument to determine the
Level Rods difference in height between points or heights of points
above a vertical datum.
Odometer It is a surveying instrument commonly used for
measuring the distance passed over by using any
wheeled vehicle, and also in topographical surveying in
regions traversed by roads.
The theodolite is an instrument that can be used to
Theodolite measure both horizontal and vertical angles, which
then allows surveyors to “triangulate” the position of
objects in a specific area.
Optical Range An instrument used to measure the distance from the
Finders instrument to a selected point or object. It is usually
classified into two kinds, coincidence and stereoscopic.
One of the most common instruments used to measure
Tape Measure size or distance Its design allows for a measure of
great length to be easily carried in pocket or toolkit and
permits one to measure around curves or corners.
Magnetic Is the most commonly used and simplest instrument
Compass used to measure directions and angles in the field.
For highest precision work the invar tape in used. It is
made of an alloy of steel (64%) and nickel (36%) which
Invar Tapes makes the thermal expansion of invar alloy extremely
low. It's not suffering from changes in temperature
which makes these tapes recommended to use for top
precision works in surveying like baseline
measurement, triangulation surveys.
Is an instrument used for marking the position of
Range Pole different stations as well as for the for sightings of
those stations and even in ranging straight lines.
A plump bob is a pointed, brass or bronze weight that
Plump Bob is usually suspended from a cord for the general
purpose of determining the plumb line from a point on
the ground.
Is a taping accessory used to mark tape lengths, most
Chaining Pins taping pins are made of number 12 steel wire, sharply
pointed at one end, have a round loop at the other end,
and are painted with alternate red and white bands
Is a surveying instrument that is used for measuring
Clinometer angles of slope, elevation, or depression of an object
with respect to gravity's direction.
Safety Gear Safety Gears are worn for the protection of both
workers and engineers during their stay in the site.
Is mainly used to aid the instrument man in reading
Magnifying measurements that are too small and is used also in
Glass reading graduations that are provided with verniers
such as the horizontal and vertical circle of a transit.
Is an instrument that is used to secure control points at
Prism a comfortable and accessible height for pinpoint
accuracy and is used in conjunction with some
electronic measuring instruments for a more precise
accuracy
Is an instrument that is vital for the precise location of
Magnetic manhole and utility covers, survey corner markers,
Locators steel and iron pipes, and underground tanks.
A surveyor's measuring instrument consisting of 1-foot
Engineers (30.48-centimeter) steel links joined together by rings,
Chain and is usually 100 feet but more chains are also
available.
Graphometer Is a surveying instrument that can also be used for
angle measurements. It consists of a semicircular limb
divided into 180 degrees and sometimes subdivided
into minutes.
Are built to allow minor adjustments to different
Adjusting Pins instruments and equipment without much loss of time
and can be used while at work.
Tape Repair Even though handled properly some tapes may be
Kit broken and break under unforeseen circumstances
which is where the tape repair kit is needed so that you
can rejoin any broken tape in the field.
Are perhaps the most important photogrammetric
Aerial Camera instruments, since they expose the photographs on
which the science depends. Capable of exposing a
large number of photographs in rapid succession while
moving in an aircraft at high speed.

Self-Introduction
Hans Anthony C. Sibayan
Mr. Sibayan is currently a Bachelor of Science in Civil
Engineering student at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
and is the President of Block 2-5. He is currently 19 years old
and is residing at Quezon City, he attended his elementary
education at Zytek Christian School located also in Quezon
City and continued to pursue both his high school and senior
high school education at Romarinda International School taking up ABM (Accountancy
and Business Management) Strand.
Mr. Sibayan shared a lot of his hobbies which are to watch series and movies that have
different genre’s; he is also fond with playing games both in the computer and
cellphone, and mostly dedicates his time in maintaining the cleanliness in his
household. Being raise by parents who are also meticulous when it comes to house
maintaining, he has acquired the same traits from his parents. Moreover, he also stated
that most of his free times are spent with sleeping. He seldom goes outside, but when
he does, he usually goes to Church for he is a Sunday School Teacher there and is part
of its youth organization. He is also participating in different leadership organization
which had developed his leadership skill throughout his participation.
Mr. Sibayan took up Civil Engineering because it is his childhood career, despite being
an ABM strand student in his senior high school and even though he knows that it will
be an arduous task for him he still pursued it. It is also his goal to take up the specialty
of Construction Management for he believes that in this field of specialty he will be able
to incorporate all the leadership skills that he has acquired.
To end, his motto in life is “You first need to experience failures in order for you to be
successful” and he believes that even though there are still a lot of barriers to encounter
at in life, circumstances unforeseen in the future. All of this are part of God’s plan and
would all be beneficial for his future and purpose in life.
