 “The combination of all technical and administrative action

intended to retain an item in, or restore it to, a state in which it


can perform its required function” British Standard 8210
 “The combination of all technical, administrative and
managerial actions during the life cycle of an item intended to
retain it in, or restore it to, a state in which it can perform the
required function (function or a combination of functions of an
item which are considered necessary to provide a given
service)” EN 13306-2010
 All actions appropriate for retaining an item/part/equipment

in, or restoring it to, a given condition.
